Small Talk

I love having small talk with  people I meet along the way. Sometimes, these small talks end up becoming so meaningful I record them for posterity. Here are a couple of examples. Last week, on the bus home, this woman sat beside me. I told her I loved her hat and she said she loved mine. I asked her if she was well and she said she was feeling a lot better. She said she recently spent two weeks in hospital for a serious lung condition. She said she was in such a bad state, she called the ambulance.  She was told they would be with her in 40 minutes. As she didn't think she would last that long, she went out of her house and tried to stop cars driving by. One man who stopped agreed to drive her to the hospital, where she happens to work.  She was treated really well and she had visits from her colleagues. I told her I was very happy she was better and I said I would pray for her. She was open to that idea as she's Catholic. She also told me her daughter is in hospital su...

Jesus Christ, the Conductor

Image
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.," Psalm 32: 8 "Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together." Psalm 34: 3 ---- Whenever I watch a classical concert, my attention is always focused on the conductor.  I love how they are in command of all the musicians. Because the conductor knows the musical piece inside out, he knows exactly when to bring different musicians in. Of course, those musicians must be willing to submit to and trust in the conductor to lead them. Where there is a lack of trust, there is disharmony.  I believe Jesus Christ is the Conductor of my life experiences. When I trust in Him, He let's me know when it's time to play my instrument and when to rest. Here's an example. Earlier today, I read a friend's post on Facebook about how she is still struggling with letting go of the last images of her mum before she passed away. As I have had a similar experience, I c...

I Abide in Christ

Image
"I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness." John 12: 46 "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." John 15: 4-5 Thank you, Holy Spirit, for helping me to create this Image. I never knew you were such an expert at using PowerPoint. 😄❤️ (Christ Image courtesy of Google Images)

The Helper Gives His Assent

Image
"And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.."  John 14: 16-17 ---- Before I went to church, I watched a pastor on a Christian TV channel  preaching about doing everything for the Lord. He cited a passage* from the Bible. I felt as if he was speaking directly to me. I looked up the Bible passage and copied and pasted it on my notebook app. Before I left home, I checked that I had all the essentials in my rucksack like my keys, travel card and purse. I was going to leave my reading glasses at home as they usually project the words on this screen which I can clearly see, but I decided to take my glasses with me.  During my bus journey to church, I meditated on doing everything for the Lord. This means when I go to work, I am not working for an employer, I am...

Lord of the Dance

Image
We sang this song at church today. ------- Lord of the Dance I danced in the morning When the world was begun, And I danced in the moon And the stars and the sun, And I came down from heaven And I danced on the earth, At Bethlehem I had my birth. Dance, then, wherever you may be, I am the Lord of the Dance, said he, And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be, And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said he I danced for the scribe And the pharisee, But they would not dance And they wouldn't follow me. I danced for the fishermen, For James and John They came with me And the Dance went on. Dance, then, wherever you may be, I am the Lord of the Dance, said he, And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be, And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said he I danced on the Sabbath And I cured the lame; The holy people Said it was a shame. They whipped and they stripped And they hung me on high, And they left me there On a Cross to die. Dance, then, wherever you may be, I am the Lord o...

Reflection.  This is actually a photo of the reflection of our back garden on the television screen in our living room. I think it's pretty cool! ❤️

Cramps Healed

"He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him." "Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."  Philippians 2: 9-11 ---- While I was lying in bed watching a video on my laptop, I started feeling pain in my right calf. I adjusted my leg slightly but the pain got really severe. Immediately, I started calling on the name of Jesus, first out loud and then in my thought. Within a minute, the pain gradually dissolved. I continued thinking of Jesus while watching the video. After an hour or so, I felt pain, this time underneath my right foot. I continued calling on Jesus' name and the pain dissolved. Nice try, Satan! The name of Jesus is ...
