Walking Up the Stairs

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4: 13

As I had arrived very early to volunteer at the Daffodil Day Service, one of the church elders asked if I could meet and greet guests who were arriving early. A lot of then were elderly and needed to be directed to the lifts.

Later, I saw an elderly guest struggling to get up the stairs. I told her there were lifts available. She said she didn't like lifts and asked if I could help her.

As I helped my friend up, I kept encouraging her until we got to the top. 

I give thanks for Christ's strength which helped both of us get up those stairs effortlessly. ❤️

What is My Function?

At this expo I was working at, I was helping visitors print out their badges with the scanning machine. Whenever I or anyone got close to the scanning machine, it would automatically scan the barcode on their badge and print out another badge. I found  it quite hilarious. 😄 I had to either hide my lanyard badge inside my jacket or try not to stand close to the machine. It got me thinking about functions. The function of the scanning machine is to scan barcodes and print out badges. In other words, the machine has been programmed to scan barcodes and print out badges. About Angels

Do I believe in angels? I have always believed in angels. Years ago when a van came from nowhere and almost ran me over, someone pulled me out of the way. I turned round to thank the person, but there was no one there, at least they were not visible to my senses. I believe I was saved by an angel. When I followed the New Age, the belief was you could call on angels to do your bidding. Some people even worshipped angels. As a Christian, I now follow the teachings in the Bible. Angels appear frequently in the Bible. In the Bible: - Angels are God's messengers. For instance  the angel Gabriel was sent by God to tell the virgin Mary that she had been chosen to be the mother of Jesus. (Luke 1: 19) - Angels are sent by God to protect His people or fight various battles.(Psalm 91: 11-12; Revelation 12: 7) - Angels are not there to be at people's beck and call. If at First You Don't Succeed

So I put a quiche in the oven to heat it up. By the time I checked it again, it was overdone. I had to scrape the burnt bits off. I didn't share that information with my flatmate, who was at work at the time. The very next day, my flatmate bought me the exact same quiche from the supermarket. I told her I had "cooked" a quiche the day before but it was more burnt than cooked. I believe God had inspired my flatmate to buy that quiche for me. It was His way of saying, if at first you don't succeed, try again.😊 Tomorrow I will have the quiche and be sure to follow the heating instructions. Thank you, Lord, for caring about everything that concerns me including cooking. ❤️
