The Prodigal Daughter Returns

Psalm 139: 13-14 ---- On the tube, I saw this young lad, possibly in his late teens, with a very dark complexion. He looked stunning. I had this idea to tell him what a nice complexion he had. Before I got off, I told him. You should have seen the smile that lit up his face. I bet he doesn't hear that compliment that often.  I reckon God inspired me to do that. ❤️

Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." 1 Peter 3: 3-4, NIV ---- I hear there has been a backlash over the new Miss France 2024, Eve Gilles, because she has cropped hair. Give me a break!  Does this mean a woman is only considered beautiful if she has long hair? What about Zozibini Tunzi, former Miss Universe (2019), who not only had cropped hair, she had natural Afro hair.  How dare they see her as beautiful? The actress, Audrey Hepburn, had cropped hair in her hey day, and she was considered to be very beautiful. I guess beauty standards have dropped since then.  I believe beauty comes in many forms whether a woman has long, short, Afro, straight, curly, etc. I guess I must be biased as I have had cropped Afro hair since 1992. ❤️ https://www.inde...

Note to self: When a casting agency asks you to upload a selfie with natural makeup, they don't mean no makeup. They mean base with no eyeshadow, no fake eyebrows, no fake eyelashes, no highlights, no bright lipstick. I never wear mascara, fake eyelashes, fake eyebrows or highlighter. I rarely wear eye shadow. Just as well they only want natural makeup as I wouldn't know how to put on all that slap anyway. 😄

Today, this little girl in the Reception class I was working in said to me, "Miss, your head is empty!" I knew exactly what she meant. "Yes, I have short hair," I smiled at her. When I first had all of my hair chopped off over 30 years ago, people kept asking me why I had cropped hair.   I was watching a programme on this Christian channel about Biblical counselling. The counsellor was soeaking to this young woman who unhappy with her looks because she believed she didn't meet the world's idea of beauty. The counsellor reminded her that believers in Christ do not follow the world's standards, but what the Word teaches. The counsellor referred his client to 1 Peter 3: 3-4. "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." The client really liked that idea of beauty of her inner self. I believe when you cultivate the "fruit of the Spirit" like love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness etc (Galatians 5: 22-23), those qualities shine through which make you beautiful. I am infinitely beautiful in Christ.

 No, it's not too early in the year for daffodils. At least, not for these ones at St James's Park. 😊❤️
