Mind Meld

Image
"For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2:16 ---- While I was sitting on a park bench people watching , I noticed this woman walking with  her dog beside her. As they were approaching the park gate, the dog stopped and sat down and waited for his owner to put the lead around his neck. Once the lead was on, it walked beside the woman. I was amazed how so in tune the dog was with its owner that he knew exactly when to stop to let her put on his lead. The way the owner and her dog were so in tune reminds me of the Vulcans in the American sci-fi series, Star Trek. When a Vulcan wants to share his thoughts, he  mind melds with the willing participant by saying: "My mind to your mind, your thoughts to my thoughts." I believe when I gave my life to  Christ I allowed my mind to meld with Christ  His Mind becomes my mind and his thoughts become my thoughts. However, this is a continuous process of ren...

Separated for Only a Moment

Image
"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3: 8 ---- One thing I love about Star Trek is the way they explore different timelines and dimensions, which align with my Christian faith. More on this later.7 In the episode, "The City on the Edge of Forever" (TOS, S1, E28),  Kirk and Spock enter this time portal to rescue McCoy.  They end up travelling back in time from the 23rd to the 20th century.  I won't say what happens because of spoilers. Suffice it to say, they did find McCoy. When Kirk and Spock return through the time portal, Scotty says, "What happened, sir? You only left a moment ago." Spock says, "We were successful." It's interesting that Kirk, Spock and McCoy were back in that time for several days, possibly weeks, but in the 23rd century, they were only gone for a moment. Back to my Christian faith, I believe that a 1,000 years in thi...

Jesus as Director!

While I was watching Star Trek Voyager, I noticed Jesus was directing that episode. 😆❤️

Universal Translator

Image
While I was working at this event, I asked this man if I could help him. He took out this device and spoke Mandarin into it. (I knew it was Mandarin because he said "Nǐ hǎo" which I know is "hello" in Mandarin).  He them got me to listen to it. I heard a woman's voice speaking French. I shook my head and said, "English please!" He tried again and the woman's voice said, "Hello, where can I buy a ticket?" I pointed to the ticket desk. I know you can translate English into many languages on Google. In fact, I have been using it on my phone to communicate with visitors who speak Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. I wasn't aware there was now a Universal Translator device. It's quite pricey at the moment though. It's wonderful to see Star Trek technology have come true.😊👏❤️🖖

Unconditional Love

(Previously posted on Facebook on 29.4.2022) "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12: 32 ---- I've never been a parent, but I believe those who are parents will be able to relate to this. My mum used to ask me why I liked Star Trek so much and I told her the same reason why she loved Coronation Street, the British TV soap.😆 Although mum couldn't relate to Star Trek, she did fall in love with Captain Janeway from Star Trek Voyager and lthe greedy aliens called the Ferrengis. It really didn't matter to mum what the episodes were about, she got great joy from the fact that I was enjoying myself.  I see that with parents who enjoy supporting their kids, even though they haven't a clue why their kids love what they love. ❤️ Photo taken at a Star Trek convention in London

God Shows My Favourite Films

As channel Film4 is constantly showing Star Trek and Mission Impossible films, I wondered if they were still streaming them as I fancied watching at least one of them. They were listed, but they were not available to watch. Nevermind! I spent the entire afternoon listening to Bible teachings. By early evening, I  was ready to watch a film. I checked to see if there were any interesting films on. I noticed they had just started showing the film "Mission Impossible 2" on Channel 4, which I really like. So I watched it. During the Ad breaks, they kept announcing that the next film coming up was "Infinite", which I've never heard of beforr. I thought it would be interesting to watch it. In the final scene of "Mission Impossible 2", Ethan and his love interest, Nyah, are reunited at this beach where they are surrounded by lots of people, but they only have eyes for each other, it was as if the people around them (the extras) didn't exist. That's wha...
