Temperature Control

While I was taking a break at this expo I was working at, I thought to myself that the exhibition centre was really hot. Suddenly, I noticed this guy with a hi vis jacket walking by. At the back of his jacket were the words, "Temperature Control." He sat down to have his meal. I approached him and said, "I've been thinking how hot it is here and you showed up. Are you the temperature control man?" "No, I'm working at another company," he said. He did find it rather amusing though. I'll just have to trust in God to control the temperature.😄 ---- Related Bible verses:. 3 Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in [b]a son of man, in whom there is no [c]help. 4 His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish. 5 Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the Lord his God, 6 Who made heaven and earth," Psalm 146: 3-5

Jesus Christ, the Conductor

Image
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.," Psalm 32: 8 "Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together." Psalm 34: 3 ---- Whenever I watch a classical concert, my attention is always focused on the conductor.  I love how they are in command of all the musicians. Because the conductor knows the musical piece inside out, he knows exactly when to bring different musicians in. Of course, those musicians must be willing to submit to and trust in the conductor to lead them. Where there is a lack of trust, there is disharmony.  I believe Jesus Christ is the Conductor of my life experiences. When I trust in Him, He let's me know when it's time to play my instrument and when to rest. Here's an example. Earlier today, I read a friend's post on Facebook about how she is still struggling with letting go of the last images of her mum before she passed away. As I have had a similar experience, I c...

Trust in God, not Human Knowledge

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118: 8 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth." Psalm 12: 1-2 ---- A friend was raving about this AI programne he's been using, which he recommended that I look up. Out of curiosity, I registered and asked the AI programne if there was a cure for migraines. The answer that came up was there wasn't a cure, but there were various ways to manage them with medication, diet, environment and consult your doctor. I then asked if there was any cure for sickle cell anaemia. Again, the answers that came up  was no cure, but there were ways to manage them. I used to experience constant migraines and God  healed me of them. I have a friend who used to experience sickle cell anaemia and God healed her. This shows that the facts that AIs provide are based solely on human knowledge or what humans believe is possible. Those who ...

The Conductor at Work

Image
"Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all.12 Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all." 1 Chronicles 29:11-12 ----- While I was working this evening, I had an opportunity to watch the London Philharmonic Orchestra with Canellakis conducting Shostakovich. It was very intense but I enjoyed it. What I enjoy the most about all orchestras is watching the conductor at work.  In order for the orchestra to be of one accord, they need to let the conductor lead the way and this involves surrender, humility and trust on their part. In the same respect, I believe Christ is the Conductor of my life. However, I need to submit to Him and trust in Him to conduct my life and everything that concerns me. I  can't say i...

Sat Nav

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3: 5-6 ---- I believe God is like a Sat Nav. When you're travelling in the wrong direction, He automatically gets you back on track. Here's one example. I was thinking instead of catching the tube home from work, I would catch the bus home all the way, even though it was going to take 2 hours.   I dismissed the idea as illogical. I got on a bus to the nearest tube station. When I arrived, the ticket barrier was closed. One tube staff told me there was an incident at a tube station and the entire line was closed. She advised me to catch a bus to another tube station. When I got out of the tube station, I got on a bus and I ended up travelling home all the way by bus as I had thought earlier. I believe the thought I had earlier was inspired by God. Even though I ignored it, I ended up following His guidance. Thank yo...

The God Health Care Plan

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46: 1 "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118: 8 "For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord." Jeremiah 30: 17 "But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18: 2 ---- I had to call the hospital on behalf of a loved one. The department I called never answered the phone. I kept calling, but there was no response. I then called the hospital's switchboard. It took ages for me to get through to an operator. When someone finally answered my call,  l asked them to put me through to an alternative number at the department, but still nothing. I became so frustrated, I called the switchboard again and asked to be put through to the hospital's complaints department. Of course, no one answered the phone. They asked callers to leave a message, which I did. It got me wondering ...

Open House London

Image
"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him,and He shall bring it to pass." Psalm 37: 4-5 ---- I used to attend an event called Open House London every year. The event, which took place around the second weekend in September, was an opportunity for lovers of architecture to visit buildings which are not usually open to the public. Tours were organised for visitors to explore various buildings. Six years ago, I applied to become a volunteer for Open House London, but on the day I was really ill and couldn't do it. Since then, I've been receiving constant emails from them inviting me to volunteer for favourite events, but I've not been able to commit to any. This afternoon, my church  hosted an Open House London event for visitors to explore the building, including the dome. My friend told me she was volunteering for the event. She was asked to register visitors entering the buil...

Trust in God, Not Your Qualifications

(Previously posted on Facebook on 15.7.2022) "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,and He shall [a]direct your paths." Proverbs 3: 5-6 ---- Today, my colleagues and I took some of our learners out for recreation. While we were waiting at this bus stop for our bus, I chatted to the learner who was assigned to me. He uses Makaton and a device to communicate and I respond verbally, which he can understand.  I noticed this woman at the bus stop smiling at us. She told me I was very good with him. She said she had a 13 year old autistic boy and she has been looking for a carer for him. When our bus arrived, my learner and I sat at the back and we continued our conversation. This man sitting  near us was also watching us. He told me he was very impressed with the way I was interacting with the learner. He said not many people could do that kind of job. He also said he was a trained nurse and could see how co...

Sunday School

Lovely service today, but I spent most of it assisting at Sunday School.  😊❤️ I learned something new today at Sunday School - FROG. Fully Rely On God I even took notes. I reckon I'm going to be getting a lot more out of the Sunday School teacher than the kids. 😀❤️

Walking by Spirit

(Previously posted on Facebook  on 20.6.2018) "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts." Zechariah 4: 6 ---- Last night, I was woken up in the middle to give support to my housemate. It took me ages to get back to sleep. When I woke up this morning, I felt exhausted. I quickly reminded myself that "I am Spirit and Spirit has unlimited energy."  The feeling of exhaustion left me instantly. Later, I decided to walk into town. At one point, I started feeling discomfort. I reminded myself that I walk by Spirit.  In other words, God was walking me. After walking for two and a half hours, I felt as fresh as I had when I first started. When I do anything using my will power or mind power, I feel depleted. When I work with Spirit, the only Power and Mind there is, I have unlimited energy.  I walk and work by Spirit. 💗

Comb for the Cat

Image
"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass." Psalm 37: 4-5 ---- My flatmate was telling me as her cat, Zeus, is shedding a lot of fur, she intended to get a comb to help with the process.  She said she needed one with soft bristles as Zeus has sensitive skin. The next day, on the bus I noticed a comb on the floor. I picked it up and put it  in my bag. Maybe my flatmate could use it for Zeus. I even took a photo of the comb and texted it to her. Later when I saw my flatmate,  she told me that wasn't the kind of comb she had in mind. She said there were special combs for that purpose. She showed me the kind she was looking for on the Internet.  I told her she should have been more specific. 😀 I believe our all knowing Father God knows exactly what our needs are. My knowledge is limited. I guess I just got excited when I...

About Constipation

"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts." Zechariah 4: 6 ---- So I had the urge to do number two, but I was feeling constipated. I tried to force it, but it wasn't happening.   I thought, "God, I need some help here!" I then relaxed and my "friends" immediately popped out and were released effortlessly. 😊 Constipation is a reminder to me that when  I try to make things happen without God i.e. by human will or human strength, it's not only hard work, I might end up hurting myself in the long run. When I wait on the Lord i.e trust in God, things happen easily and effortlessly and it always works out for the best. Thank you, God! ❤️

God is the Only Source

"A nd my God  shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4: 19 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights,  with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1: 17 ----- On the bus, I could hear this teenage boy sitting at the back chatting on his phone. He sounded like he was talking to his mum or dad. He was telling them that he needed money to add to his bus pass. He said he needed a Pound, but it seems whoever he was speaking to was not convinced. If I had the money in my purse, I would have given it to him, but I don't tend to carry cash in my purse. I probably have about 50 pence in there now. The boy's conversation got me thinking of God. Those of us who were brought up in Christian homes were taught at Sunday School that God is our Father and He is the Creator, but I don't remember ever seeing God as the Source of all good things includi...

Trust and Obey

Image
" Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." Author: John H. Sammis (1887) ----- Because of the 10K race in central London not far from the church I attend, I decided yesterday evening to give church a miss. I thought I'd watch their online service. I then texted a friend to see if she fancied going for a walk in the morning. She told me she wasn't available in the morning, but could meet up later. I didn't fancy walking later. While I was pondering over whether to go for a walk in the morning, the Holy Spirit told me to go to church. He said I was needed at church and I could travel a different way to church - catch the tube and then either walk the rest of the way or catch a bus. So this morning, I obeyed and got ready for church. As I was approaching the tube station, my friend texted me to tell me she was now available for the walk if I was free. I texted her back to tell her I had been inspired to go to church....

Tomorrow Will Worry about Itself

Image
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Matthew 6: 34, NKJV "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1: 3, KJV ----- On my way to church, I stopped off at this cafe to have some breakfast. As soon as I finished my meal, the assistant swiped my empty plate and cup away. I read it as a sign that they wanted me to leave as the cafe was getting busy. I wasn't ready to leave just yet. This customer came over and asked if she and her husband could share my table. I told her they were welcome to share the table. When they sat down in front of me I asked them if they were in London for the day. "How can you tell?" the man said. "I just knew intuitively." He told me they were from Buckinghamshire and were down in London because his wife was taking part in a 10K race next Sunday and they wanted to scout the area ...

Depending on God - Bus

During my bus journey, I was listening to a teaching by Creflo Dollar called "How to Completely Depend on God." (Creflo Dollar has been sorely tested over the years and has overcome). At the next bus station, I planned to catch two buses - one from this station and another in central London. I noticed another bus I don't usually travel on and I had the idea to get on that one as it was going all the way. I asked the driver if he was going near Warren Street and he said yes.  During the journey, I fell asleep, but I kept waking up to check where we were. I then fell into another deep sleep. When I opened my eyes again, the bus had just arrived at the stop I needed to get off at. So that's what it's like to completely depend on God. He gets you on the right bus and wakes you up when you arrive at your stop. Thank you, God, for getting me to my destination. ❤️
