School Run

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." 1 Peter 5: 7, NLT ---- I decided to leave home around 3.30pm, which would give me enough time to get to my destination by bus. I checked the bus timetable and it said my first bus was due in about 5 minutes. Although it takes about 2 minutes to walk to the bus stop, I decided to leave immediately in case the bus arrived early. As I was approaching the bus stop, I noticed lots of school kids waiting at the bus stop and a huge traffic jam. That's all I need!  I had forgotten that the local school finishes around this time. I'm going to have to catch the tube now if I want to arrive on time. I had the thought to walk to the previous bus stop, but I wasn't in the mood. When I expressed my disappointment with a woman at the bus stop, she said you should always leave before 3pm to avoid the school kids. When the bus arrived, I did manage to get a seat. At the tube station, I had more than enough time...

The Queue Manager

"The Lord has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all." Psalm 103: 19 ----- Today, as there were only two of us that had turned up for that shift, our manager asked us to work at the front gates. This meant we needed the guys on queue management to ensure we weren't overwhelmed with visitors. They also covered our lunch and tea breaks. The most amazing thing was although my colleague and I were busy, we were not overloaded with visitors. My colleague marvelled at how quiet it was and how easy he found working with me. Later, while we having our end of shift briefing, our manager told us she had been feeling stressed in the morning because we were so short-staffed. She thanked us for the way we had adjusted and handled the situation. I wasn't stressed at all as I knew God is in control. Thank you, Lord, for managing the queue and providing all the support we needed. ❤️

Reality TV

Image
"For God is not  the author  of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints." 1 Corinthians 14:33 "And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie," 2 Thessalonians 2: 11 ---- I was watching this reality TV show.  Two girls, who are also best friends, are having a heart to heart about their respective relationships. One girl says she's now realised that their conversation should always be confidential. I'm confused.  If their conversation is meant to be confidential, why are they having it while being filmed for millions of viewers to watch? 😆 Photo courtesy of Google Images

Missing Loved Ones at Christmas

Image
This year, I know and have heard of several people who have lost loved ones.To be honest, I stopped counting after 10. They were relatives, and friends who had lost their loved ones. I've attended 2 funerals in person and 3 via Zoom.  I was chatting to my cousin last night who lost her mum earlier this year. She was telling me how much she's missing her mum.  I know how it feels when you see people looking forward to being with their family at Christmas and you are mourning the loss of a loved one and missing them. For all who have lost loved ones this year, may God give you comfort and embrace you in His Peace. I promise it does get easier every year.  Peace and love to all. ❤️🌟 "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2: 14 Photo courtesy of Google Images

Doing Everything with the Lord

"Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." Zechariah 4:6 ---- I've been meaning to register my Oyster card online so I can have evidence when it comes to claiming travel expenses. Today, I decided to register my Oyster card at the TFL website. I created an account and added my details and my secret answer and authenticated my identity.  After I added my Oyster card number, it asked for the answer to my secret question. After I answered, it didn't recognise it. I decided to log in again. This time, the computer didn't recognise my password. For crying out loud! I decided to call the helpline. Before you can get to the customer adviser, you have to get through the annoyimg gatekeeper. 😊 After I pressed the option that applied to me, I waited patiently for my call to be answered. I usually can't stand the music they play while you're waiting, but I remained calm. Finally, I heard the phone ringing which meant my call was about t...

The Cashier

While I was queueing up at the checkout of this store, I noticed one cashier looked very serious and  she was not engaging with her customers. She was just going through the motions. I thought she was either tired or unhappy. I noticed another cashier was smiling at every customer she was serving. After I blessed everyone in the store with peace. I thought it would be nice to be served by the serious cashier so I could chat to her. When it was my turn, the next cashier available was the happy one. I had a quick chat with her and I wished her well. After I paid for my items, as I was  going past the sad-looking cashier, I wished her peace. I may not have had the opportunity to speak to that cashier in person, but I spoke to her in spirit.  God bless her and all the staff in that store! ❤️

How ro Avoid the Rat Race

When I arrived at the tube (underground) station, the line I wanted was heaving with passengers and it took a while to get down the escalator. A member of staff advised passengers travelling north to walk all the way down the platform where the next train is likely to be less crowded.  Naturally, passengers ignored the staff's suggestion and stayed at the top of the platform, which was overcrowded.  I knew with all that crowd, it was going to take ages for me to get on a tube, let alone get a seat. I decided to travel on the next train going south, in the opposite direction, get off at the next stop, then catch another train going north. When I eventually caught the tube train going north, it was not only stree-free, I was able to get a seat all the way until I had to change to another line. The easiest way to avoid the rat race is not to join the rat race. 😀

Walk, Charity Shops and God's Patience

Image
"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5: 23-24,, NKJV ---- I believe in any moment, I am either in my flesh (which comprise of my body and soul) or in my born again spirit which is one with the Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). A friend and I arranged to go for a walk. We used to work together so it was the first time we were going to be hanging out socially. When we met up this morning, we enjoyed each other's company. After the walk, she asked if I fancied exploring the charity shops in the area. I said okay. The first shop didn't have anything either of us were interested in. At the second shop, my friend saw a nice skirt and some jackets she liked. After trying them on, which looked great on her, she decided to buy the skirt and one jacket. She asked me if I'd see...

Reading Glasses, No Fear

Image
"Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power." Colossians 2: 8-10 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 --- Anyone who knows me from childhood might remember that I've been wearing glasses since I was a kid. At school, I always had to sit very close to the blackboard  because of my poor eyesight. At one time, I was even losing my eyesight, but it was miraculously restored. I still had to continue to wear glasses though. I now have to wear glasses to read, but I can see fine at a distance. In the UK, if any member of your immediate family has had glaucoma, you are entitled to a free eye test if you are over 40 years old. I had a test d...
