Christ is My Life

"For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 16: 25 ---- After I heard about another celebrity who had committed suicide, it got me thinking about  life. I used to think life belonged to me and I could do whatever I want with it. I could live the way I want or get rid of it once I've had enough of living. There was a time when I was feeling really depressed and no longer wanted to live, but I couldn't  commit suicide as I didn't want to hurt my mum.  I decided to give myself a reason to live  by loving at least one person a day, which kept those suicide fantasies at bay. After my mum passed away, the suicidal urge returned with full force. I asked a Christian friend to pray for me which stopped the urge, temporarily. I continued with my purpose of sharing love. When I finally accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour, I gave up my life and in exchange Christ became my everlasting life a...

Volunteering

A few days ago, while I was volunteering as a steward at a church event, another steward told me her 16 year old daughter would be interested in volunteering at the museum I was working at.  She asked if I knew what the minimum age requirement was. I said I didn't know.  Another steward volunteer, who I happened to work with, offered to find out for her. Today, I returned to work after being off for a few days While I was having lunch at  the staff restaurant, this woman asked if she could share my table. We got chatting and it turned out she was a volunteer at the museum, which reminded me of the conversation I'd had at church. I asked her if she knew anything about young volunteers, but she didn't as she worked with older retired volunteers. (I found out later that the minimum age is 18). Of all of the hundreds of staff who worked at that museum, it's amazing how I had a volunteer sit opposite me at lunch. Only God could arrange that. That's what I love about walk...

Walking Up the Stairs

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4: 13 ---- As I had arrived very early to volunteer at the Daffodil Day Service, one of the church elders asked if I could meet and greet guests who were arriving early. A lot of then were elderly and needed to be directed to the lifts. Later, I saw an elderly guest struggling to get up the stairs. I told her there were lifts available. She said she didn't like lifts and asked if I could help her. As I helped my friend up, I kept encouraging her until we got to the top.  I give thanks for Christ's strength which helped both of us get up those stairs effortlessly. ❤️

Complete in Christ

"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power." Colossians 2: 9-10 ---- I hate being late. I am always early unless it can't be helped.l I do get upset with.people who are always late.  As I see it, if you can turn up for work on time, you should be able to arrive on time for me too. If there are circumstances beyond your control, I expect you to text me.  That's why I no longer attend functions organised by people who are never on time. I don't have the time for such nonsense. While I was working at this exhibition, a few of us agency staff had to cover each other for our shifts and breaks. Because I wasn't familiar with the venue, I left early for my first shift. After working at that position for 40 minutes, a colleague was supposed to take over, but she was a few minutes late which was understandable.. Fortunately, I was going for a 20 minutes break. I deci...

It's All the Same to Me

Image
"All the world’s a stage,  And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances." Williams Shakespeare  "Now then we are ambassadors for Christ," 2 Corinthians 5: 20 ---- I belueve whether I'm  working on a film or TV set, for a theatre, museum or corporate event, they're all sets to me. Before we go for a shoot, our agents send us costume briefs and call times i.e. what to wear for the role we're playing and what time to arrive. (I prefer when it's a role where you go for fitting for hair, makeup and costume as it means I don't have to worry about what to wear, I'm simply a mannequin).😊 In the same respect, before I go to any job, the agency I am representing sends me a costume brief and my start time. Most of the time, it's all black. Some companies give you uniforms, which they expect you to wear. Speaking of being on set, at the expo I was working at yesterday, I saw a friend I've worked with on se...

Daughter of Light

Image
"This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all." 1 John 1: 5 ---- This morning was pretty chilly, but it got warmer later. By mid-morning, while I was travelling on the bus, I was sitting on the side of the bus that was sunny, but it was bearable as I had a sleeveless top on. Suddenly, my attention was drawn to my left arm. I could see the rays of the sun on my skin and my skin was turning light. As you can see from the photo of my hand, the skin tone on my arm is a lot darker than on my palm. I noticed my arm was getting lighter like the palm of my hand and looking white like light. I was fascinated by the transformation and for a  long time I kept staring at my arm.  As soon as I turned my attention back to the road, my arm returned to "normal." I'm not surprised that I was seeing my arm as light. My Father God is Light and, as His offspring, I am also light. 💛 Related post: https://pro...

Playing Football

While I was supervising kids at the school playground, a boy kicked a ball in my direction. When I kicked the ball back to him, it felt like I had just kicked a rock and my poor big toe was in agony. The trainers I was wearing were cheap logo free ones that I bought for filming, as supporting artists/extras are not allowed to wear clothes or shoes with logos on set. They definitely were not made for kicking footballs! For the pain, I quickly reminded myself of my identity in Christ. After repeating to myself that "I am spirit" a few times, the pain dissolved. Later, I told a boy I had kicked a ball and I found it very painful. How do real footballers do it? He told me footballers wear trainers with steel toes. Now he tells me!  😀

Walking in Faith

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen... By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible." Hebrews 11: 1, 3 "So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8: 8 "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you." Romans 8: 11 ---- When I finished working at this school, I noticed I was getting a sore throat and feeling like I was getting a cold. I reminded myself that I am whole in Christ. In the middle of the night, I woke up with the sore throat again and prayed. I then went back to sleep When I woke up in the morning although I wasn't experiencing any more sore throat, I still didn't feel well. I texted my agency to tell them that I was taking t...

Christ Light in Healing Service

Image
" You are the light of the world... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5: 14, 16 ---- It's been a long day. I've only just got home since I left early this morning. What a marvellous day it's been! In the morning service, the deacon preached on Jesus's teaching about believers being the light of the world and salt of the earth and how we are to go out into the world shining Christ's Light. They had a healing service in the evening, which I wanted to attend as I've never attended one before. Besides, I could do with healing too. After the first service, I hung out with my friend, then I went for a long walk. I then returned to the church and hung out with a church member who used to know my mum. The deacon for the evening healing service was preaching about healing our image of God. While she was preaching, I could see her surrounded by the Light of Christ hugging her from t...
