The Prodigal Daughter Returns

(Previously posted on Facebook on 25.10.2018) While I was speaking to the bank, they put me on hold and this music came on (see link below).  It reminded me of how wonderful God is. Years ago, I heard soneone playing the song  and I wondered what the name of the song was. (That was before snartphones). When I saw my friend, who is a musician, I sang a bit of the melody to him and asked him the name of the song but he didn't recognise it. So I let it go.  Early one morning,  around 5am, someone parked their car right underneath my bedroom window playing really loud music. I was so livid, I put out an intention for him to be banished to the ends of the earth but my prayer wasn't answered. He stayed put. The next song that came on was the song I had been wondering about. After that song finished the man drove off. The next time I saw my musician friend, I hummed the full melody which he recognised.  He told me the song was Twilight by Maze. God is aMaze-ing! ♥

At my friend's wedding party, I was singing to Whitney Houston's song "How Will I Know If He Really Loves Me?"   Later, while I was waiting for my tube home, this guy walked right by me. On the back of his orange jacket was the word, "Whitney." Nice one, God, I know how much you really love me. 😆❤️

While I was browsing YouTube, this random.video about the most iconic baseline of the 1980s popped up in my feed. I found it quite interesting as I used to love that song and still do. They used to play it a lot whenI used to go clubbing back in the day.  For me, the unexpected video represents God's Grace that He is constantly pouring on His children. Thank you, God, for the wonderful surprise. I love it! ❤️

I usually listen to music on YouTube. I decided to add a particular song on my playlist on my Spotify account only to discover that all the songs on my playlist had been erased.  It must have happened when I downloaded the new Windows 11 on my laptop. Oh well, I will just have to build a new playlist. Sometimes, you need to let go of the old and let in new blessings. Thank you, Lord! ❤️ Edit: God just showed me how to synchronise my songs from the app to my laptop so I got my old songs back. ❤️

Some Christian friends invited me to their summer jazz barbecue to share their faith in Jesus. Great company, food, music and weather.   I give thanks to Jesus for His Grace. ❤️ Music by the Jeff Hammer Combo.

Psalm 34: 3 ---- Whenever I watch a classical concert, my attention is always focused on the conductor.  I love how they are in command of all the musicians. Because the conductor knows the musical piece inside out, he knows exactly when to bring different musicians in. Of course, those musicians must be willing to submit to and trust in the conductor to lead them. Where there is a lack of trust, there is disharmony.  I believe Jesus Christ is the Conductor of my life experiences. When I trust in Him, He let's me know when it's time to play my instrument and when to rest. Here's an example. I was hanging out with a friend who is a music producer. It's always fun chatting to him as he knows a lot about music and what goes on in the music industry.  When he listens to a song, he can spot every single instrument and nuance, which I find fascinating. Because of him, I now listen closely to how songs are produced.  I also like the way he thinks. Yesterday he told me he recently discovered the song "Love's Gonna Get You" (sung by Jocelyn Brown) had parts that had been sampled by other artists that became major hits. He got me to listen to it to see if I could spot them. I did. There was "I've Got the Power" which became a worldwide smash hit for the band, Snap. I also recognised the part sampled in the song "I'm Gonna Get You" released by Bizarre Inc. Other artists have sampled that same song too.
