The Prodigal Daughter Returns

How wonderful to see an Easter egg in the form of a sandwich. I bought one for myself and another for my flatmate. (My flatmate loved the idea of it). The Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5: 22) includes self-control. Self-control  is going to make me wait till Easter to open my Easter Egg sandwich. "Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord." Jeremiah 23: 24 ---- Before I became a born-again Christian, I was aware of the Holy Spirit and that He is everywhere present and was with me. I would refer to him as Spirit. When I accepted Jesus Chist as my Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit was no longer only with me, but now lives in me.  It's not enough to know the Holy Spirit lives in me, I have to be able to experience Him in my everyday life. While I was working at this art gallery,  I asked a colleague a question, but I didn't like the way she responded to me which I found disrespectful.  I was feeling so mad, I was thinking of having words with her next time I saw her.   I then thought, "No, I am full of the Holy Spirit which means I have the fruit of His Spirit inside of me." (See Galatians 5: 22-23) My feelings towards my colleague instantly changed.  When I saw her later, I told her I didn't mean to upset her.  She accepted my apology and we...

Galatians 5: 22-23 ---- On the bus, I heard this guy snuffling near me.  At school, whenever I hear a child snuffling I  tell them to blow their nose.  This was a grown, albeit, young man on the bus. I couldn't very well tell him to blow his nose! As the snuffling continued, I was really tempted to hand him some tissues, which I always have in my handbag, but sonething was stopping me. I was reminded that instead of trying to control someone's behaviour, I could practise self-control, which I already have in me. Help me, Holy Spirit, to ignore that snuffling sound!  I didn't even wish for him to get off the bus. Galatians 5: 22-23 ---- During my bus journey, this man got on and sat beside me. His jacket stank of cigarette smoke. The smell was so pungent, I could feel a burning sensation in my throat.  I didn't want to sit beside him. I was hoping he wasn't travelling all the way to the last stop. I  had a thought to bless him instead. I asked God to bless him with love. I also blessed all the passengers with love. He then took his jacket off, which took away the strong cigarette smell, though there was still a whiff of it on his clothes. I then had another thought. Why am I giving cigarette all that power? Today I worked at a school I worked at a month ago.  Before I went, I thanked God for His Grace and Favour. The class teacher was very happy to see me as we worked well the last time I was there.  She told me as her assistant has been off for a few days, they've had different supply assistants. She said the kids have been feeling unsettled because of all the changes. The day went well and the kids were very well behaved.  At least they listened to me. The other class kids I was supervising in the playground were also very good. At the end of the day, the class teacher told her kids how happy she was with them today for being so well behaved. I also commended this boy who had been very kind and considerate to other kids in the playground. "Really?" the teacher said. "He's not usually like that." God's Grace brings out the best in people. Thank you, God! ❤️

At the bus stop, I noticed this woman using a vape. I thought how interesting it is that people give up cigarettes and replace them with vapes. At least she was considerate and didn't vape around me. As a staunch antismoker, I can't stand any form of smoking around me.  When the bus I was waiting for arrived, I went upstairs and sat rightt in front. A few seconds later, my vaping friend came and sat beside me. During the journey, my friend started coughing. I thought maybe it's because of all that vaping she does. I silently blessed her. When a seat became available on the other side, I expected her to move, but she stayed put. As she kept coughing  I felt compassion for her and touched her arm in sympathy. "Aww, poor you!" I said. She smiled, typed something on her phone and showed me. The translator read that she had a cold. "I hope you feel better," I said. Before she got off, she said thank you! Galatians 5: 22-23 ---- During another bus journey, this woman sat next to me. I had to keep adjusting my arm as her arm was squashing mine and I was feeling very uncomfortable. She also couldn't control her body and kept leaning agsinst me whenever the bus changed directions. I prayed for her to get off, but she stayed put. As there were now empty seats, I asked for her to move to an empty seat. Not happening! Maybe, I can ask her how far she's travelling. If she's going all the way like me, I could ask her to move to an empty seat. Not a good idea as she might be offended. I then had the idea to swap seats. So I moved downstairs where there were now empty seats and remained there till the last stop. Thank you, God, for showing me how to be kind in an uncomfortable situation. ❤️

M y friend and I were chatting about people who are always late. She told me I'm her only friend who always turns up on time, the others don't. I told her I don't tolerate tardiness, especially now that most people have mobile phones. If you're running late, you can text or call. Otherwise, I find it shows a lack of respect. As I see it, if you can turn up for work on time, you can turn up to see me on time unless there's a genuine emergency that prevents it. Another thing, there are not two versions of me - one that is always on time and the other always late. There is only one me. I presume there is only one of each of us too. That's why there are social events I won't attend because if the event is supposed to start at 11pm, I expect it to start at 11pm. If people start rolling up two hours later, it's a waste of my time and they will never see me again. I'm not yet perfect, but my timekeeping certainly is.

"Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it." 1 Thessalonians 5: 23-24,, NKJV ---- I believe in any moment, I am either in my flesh (which comprise of my body and soul) or in my born again spirit which is one with the Godhead (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). A friend and I arranged to go for a walk. We used to work together so it was the first time we were going to be hanging out socially. When we met up this morning, we enjoyed each other's company. After the walk, she asked if I fancied exploring the charity shops in the area. I said okay. The first shop didn't have anything either of us were interested in. At the second shop, my friend saw a nice skirt and some jackets she liked. After trying them on, which looked great on her, she decided to buy the skirt and one jacket. She asked me if I'd see...

  I was watching a programme on this Christian channel about Biblical counselling. The counsellor was soeaking to this young woman who unhappy with her looks because she believed she didn't meet the world's idea of beauty. The counsellor reminded her that believers in Christ do not follow the world's standards, but what the Word teaches. The counsellor referred his client to 1 Peter 3: 3-4. "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." The client really liked that idea of beauty of her inner self. I believe when you cultivate the "fruit of the Spirit" like love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness etc (Galatians 5: 22-23), those qualities shine through which make you beautiful. I am infinitely beautiful in Christ.
