The Holy Spirit is My Teacher

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." John 14: 26 ---- While I was listening to this pastor on a Christian channel, she said something which I knew was off. I immediately stopped listening. I have observed many pastors, ministers and teachers filter their teachings through their belief systems. In other words, they present the Bible based on what they believe is possible instead of what  the Word of God states is possible. For instance, a pastor who does not believe healing is possible without medical intervention might preach that God can work through many different channels. The Bible clearly illustrates how the first Christians (after they received the Holy Spirit) were able to heal all manner of diseases and even raise the dead in Jesus's name. There is a pastor I sometimes listen to whose ministry practices healing of all d...

One of the Best Hugs

Image
I still rank this as one of the best hugs I've ever received. This one was from Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, one of the best sportsman Britain has ever had, in my opinion.  He's a real gentleman! ❤️ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_the_Eagle

My Faith is in the Unseen

Image
"By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."  Hebrews 11: 3 ----- I believe everything which is seen comes from the unseen realm. When your faith is only in that which is seen, you get more of the same.  When your faith is on the unseen, then the unseen manifests as your reality. A week ago, while I was cooking some chips (fries) in the oven, the back of my hand rubbed against the oven. At first, I didn't give it any thought, but when it started hurting I realised I had burnt myself. I prayed for the pain to stop and it did, but it was obvious from the texture of my skin that it was burnt. I reminded myself that by Jesus' stripes, I am already healed. (2 Peter 2: 24). However, I was busy focusing on the mark on my hand (the seen).  On one bus journey, this woman sat next to me. We got chatting about our faith. She said she was raised as a Catholic, but she no longe...

God is a DJ

Image
(Previously posted on Facebook on 25.10.2018) While I was speaking to the bank, they put me on hold and this music came on (see link below).  It reminded me of how wonderful God is. Years ago, I heard soneone playing the song  and I wondered what the name of the song was. (That was before snartphones). When I saw my friend, who is a musician, I sang a bit of the melody to him and asked him the name of the song but he didn't recognise it. So I let it go.  Early one morning,  around 5am, someone parked their car right underneath my bedroom window playing really loud music. I was so livid, I put out an intention for him to be banished to the ends of the earth but my prayer wasn't answered. He stayed put. The next song that came on was the song I had been wondering about. After that song finished the man drove off. The next time I saw my musician friend, I hummed the full melody which he recognised.  He told me the song was Twilight by Maze. God is aMaze-ing! ♥

Heaven Smells of Roses

Image
"Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6: 10 ----- When I woke up in the middle of the night, there was a strong aroma of roses.  It was like I was in a rose garden and it was wonderful. I actually love roses. To me, heaven smells of roses. Thank you, God, for giving me a glimpse of heaven on earth. ❤️ Ps: this photo was taken last year from our communal garden.

School Run

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you." 1 Peter 5: 7, NLT ---- I decided to leave home around 3.30pm, which would give me enough time to get to my destination by bus. I checked the bus timetable and it said my first bus was due in about 5 minutes. Although it takes about 2 minutes to walk to the bus stop, I decided to leave immediately in case the bus arrived early. As I was approaching the bus stop, I noticed lots of school kids waiting at the bus stop and a huge traffic jam. That's all I need!  I had forgotten that the local school finishes around this time. I'm going to have to catch the tube now if I want to arrive on time. I had the thought to walk to the previous bus stop, but I wasn't in the mood. When I expressed my disappointment with a woman at the bus stop, she said you should always leave before 3pm to avoid the school kids. When the bus arrived, I did manage to get a seat. At the tube station, I had more than enough time...

Ten Year Anniversary

Image
On this day, ten years ago, my mum, Isa, left her body and her spirit and soul went to be with the Lord. While I know mum loved me, she loved Jesus Christ a zillion times more and I know she's with Him. I was devastated when Isa "left" as she was not only my mum, she was my cook, stylist, banker, teacher, sparring partner and friend. The best legacy that Isa left me was her love for the Lord. When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, He healed my broken heart. Thank you, Isa, for playing the role of my mum and for sharing your love of Jesus Christ with me. We are now forever sisters-in-Christ. I know that one day we will be reunited, but there is no rush as I also know that even if I lived for a thousand years, when we meet again, it would be like you only saw me a moment ago. (2 Peter 3: 8) Thank you, Lord, for giving me Isa. ❤️ ---- Related Bible verses: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who c...

Throwback Song

Recently, a Facebook friend posted a line from a song. I recognised the song immediately from way back in the 1980s. Today while I was having breakfast at this restaurant, the same song came on. I made a video clip of me singing along to it. I then posted the clip on Facebook and tagged my friend. The song is called "Don't You Want Me Baby" by The Human League. Here's the video clip. 😊

Jesus Makes My Burdens Light

Image
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest....For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11: 29, 30 ----- Before we let members of the audience into our section of the auditorium, my colleague and I had to check the fire exits and make sure they were clear.  My colleague and I walked down different staircases which led to the same place. As I walking down the winding staircase, I was thinking there's a lot of steps.  When I got down, I opened the fire exit doors and they were clear. My colleague also opened the other fire exit doors and they were fine. We could have walked around the building, enter and get the lift back up to level 5, but it was raining heavily and we didn't want to get wet.  It was time to walk up. At the bottom of my staircase, I prayed, "Lord, I need your help to climb these steps." As I was walking up, I was thinking "light, light, light." The walk up was a lot easier and light than it wo...

What is My Function?

At this expo I was working at, I was helping visitors print out their badges with the scanning machine. Whenever I or anyone got close to the scanning machine, it would automatically scan the barcode on their badge and print out another badge. I found  it quite hilarious. 😄 I had to either hide my lanyard badge inside my jacket or try not to stand close to the machine. It got me thinking about functions. The function of the scanning machine is to scan barcodes and print out badges. In other words, the machine has been programmed to scan barcodes and print out badges. The machine doesn't care whether you did not intend for it to scan the barcode, it scans it anyway. In the same respect, I believe the function of all born again Christians is to be ambassadors for Christ.  All Christians are programmed by the renewing of their minds to be ambassadors for Christ.  We renew our minds with the Word of God/Bible. Within every Christian is the Holy Spirit, who is our Helper,...

Help from an Old Friend

Image
As I'm working outside today for a few hours, I've called upon an old friend (my hat) to help keep me warm.  God's blessings last forever.  ❤️

Mambo

Image
"and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen." Matthew 28: 20 ----- While I was snuggling my flatmate's cat, Zeus,  I said to him,  "The Lord is right here with us. Look, can you see Him?" Zeus stared at the "empty space" behind me and gazed at me. I knew Zeus could actually see God's presence. Zeus reminds me so much of a friend's cat called Mambo. She was also a black cat. Mambo had one of those plaintive miaows that tugs at your heart. My friend loved her. For personal reasons, he had to give her up, but he assured me she went to a good home. I 've often wondered how Mambo is. The last time I saw her was over 25 years ago. She's either long passed or is extremely old, if she's still alive. A few hours later, while I was invigilating at this art gallery, I noticed this visitor was wearing a black top. When he turned round, I noticed  the word "MAMBO" at the back of his top. I told him I had been think...

How God Answered My Friend

Image
"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Jeremiah 33: 3 ---- On Saturday evening I texted my friend to let her know that I wouldn't be attending church the next day as I had to work. The next day, my friend sent me photos of a church event she was attending. When I told her I had been working at this hospital and museum for pensioners, she told me she almost applied for a role as an occupational therapist at that hospital. After I sent my friend some photos I had taken of the museum and hospital, she told me she had been wondering what the building looks like inside.  I told her God had made a way to answer her wondering by getting me that job and working through me to show her those photos. God is wonderful. ❤️ Some photos of the museum and hospital

The tallest building in the UK

Image
On the bus yesterday,  this boy (aged around 9) and his mum were sitting across me  The boy told his mum he had just spotted The Shard (the tallest building in the UK). His mum doubted he could see the building so far away. I secretly agreed with his mum. As the bus dtove on, the boy said he could no longer see the building. At some point, he boy pointed to a building in the distance and said it was The Shatd. This time, I secretly agreed with him. I was impressed he could recognise.it from that distance. He told his mum how tall the building was. He seemed to know a lot about the building.  As the bus got closer to the City, The Shard became clearer. Before I got off the bus, I told the boy's mum that I was very impressed rhat her son had spotted the building from such a distance. Today this photo of The Shard, that I took eight years ago while travelling on the train, popped up in my Facebook Memories.  How amazing is that! 😊😳 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_...

Jesus Heals

When I got home from my friend's wedding party, I was still buzzing and I couldn't sleep. I decided to watch this singing talent show on my laptop to see real singers in action. 😄 Suddenly, I had this painful cramp on my left calf.  I got out of bed, and kept massaging the calf and calling on the name of Jesus. Within a minute, the pain was gone. I went back to bed and continued watching the talent show. The devil doesn't like people to be in joy. He'll send something to derail you or try to steal your joy. I always use that opportunity to glorify God. At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, including painful cramps. Thank you, Jesus. ❤️  ---- Related Bible verses: "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10: 10 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your...

How Do I Know He Loves Me?

Image
At my friend's wedding party, I was singing to Whitney Houston's song "How Will I Know If He Really Loves Me?"   Later, while I was waiting for my tube home, this guy walked right by me. On the back of his orange jacket was the word, "Whitney." Nice one, God, I know how much you really love me. 😆❤️

The Right Dress and Right Gift

Image
After my friend invited me to her church wedding, I started thinking about what to wear. I didn't think I had anything suitable in my wardrobe. It would mean buying something new.  I had an idea to ask my flatmate if she had anything I could borrow for a wedding. She showed me a few dresses for me to consider. which didn't fit or looked right. Finally, she brought out this dress with glitter. I knew it was the One. When I tried it on, it fit perfecly. I also had sandals with glitter to go with the dress. (On the day of the wedding, I decided to wear ankle boots instead). My flatmate also thought I needed to wear a bracelet which she loaned me. I already had the right earrings to go with the bracelet. (See photo below) My flatmate also gave me a hand bag as a gift which  I thought would go perfectly with my coat. Next, what to get my friend as a wedding gift in my budget. I could get vouchers so she can buy what she wants. The day before the wedding, I had an idea to check this...

Fear Can't Stop Love

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." 1 John 4: 18 ---- During my bus journey, this woman got on. I noticed she had a natural short Afro hair and her hair colour was similar to mine. I thought it suited her. She sat right in front of me and took her phone out. After a while when she looked up, I asked her what colour her hair was. She said it was a combination of copper and another, which she had mixed herself. I told her mine was copper bought from the shops. I told her I liked her hair colour and her short hair suited her. I asked her how long she'd had her hair short. She said 10 years and it gave her a lot of freedom.  I told her I've had mine cropped since 1992 which she found amazing. I said in those days there weren't many women with my kind of hair. My friend said the moment she got on the bus she noticed my hair and thought it really suited me, b...

Reuniting with Old Friends

Image
Some highlights from a museum I worked at recently. I loved it. It was like being reunited with old friends from the past. 😊 The vibe was very positive.  It reminded me of attending a convention where all the visitors and staff are happy being there. I hope to work there again sometime next year when they are open to the public.  I give thanks to God for giving me this opportunity. ❤️ For more information about this museum. Pound Coin for Locker

During our morning briefing, our manager told us we could use the lockers to store our stuff, but we needed to use a Pound coin to lock it.  As I didn't have any cash on me, I asked if I could borrow a Pound off someone. A colleague offered me the Pound. I was very grateful. After our shift finished,  I returned the coin, but my colleague told me to keep it until the last day of our contract. Before going back to work, I started rummaging in the rucksack I usually carry and I found a Pound coin. Good, I can return my colleague's coin. When I arrived at work, I saw my colleague. After we exchanged greetings he said, "Today, I'm the one withut a Pound coin." "No worries," I said." I found a coin in my bag so you can have yours back." Thank you, God. ❤️.
