Woke Up Late

Image
"My times are in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 ----- I woke up late today. It was one of those moments when you look at your phone and go "Oh sugar!" With God's help, I was able to quickly brush my teeth, iron my clothes, put my makeup on, get ready and leave in 15 minutes. (I had a shower the night before). I  arrived at the station early:  I even arrived at work an hour early Thank you, God.❤️ A photo of me waiting at the train station

The Right Time

"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3: 1 ---- As I have some downtime, I decided I was going to consciously spend my time with the Lord.  While I was watching a Christian TV channel, I saw this guy delivering a sermon about Jesus as a time traveller, which I found fascinating.  I then watched him being interviewed which inspired me to get his book. Just as I was about to download the Kindle version on my app, I was reminded I already had it on my App. Apparently,  I bought it two years ago, but I hadn't read it. I guess now is the perfect time to read it. ❤️ I'm enjoying it so far. Here's the link I think you might like this book – "Redeeming Your Timeline: Supernatural Skillsets for Healing Past Wounds, Calming Future Anxieties, and Discovering Rest in the Now" by Troy Brewer, Robert Henderson, Patricia King, Ward Simpson, Shawn Bolz, Ron Cantor, Dan McCollam, Ben Hughes, Jodie Hughes, Jamie Galloway. ...

Timekeeper

"My times  are  in Your hand." Psalm 31: 15 ----- While I was walking to the bus stop, I was thanking God for making my day easy, fun and wonderful.  Suddenly, I remembered I had left my sunglasses at home. Oh no, I need it as it looks like it was going to be a sunny day. I  walked back briskly, got it and walked briskly to the bus stop, as I didn't want to miss the bus. As  I always leave super early,  I could catch the later one and still arrive early, but I still wanted to catch the first one. As I was approaching the bus stop, I noticed the bus lights were on indicating it was about to leave. To my utter amazement,  I saw the driver walking towards the Portaloo (toilet) near the bus stop.  There was now no need to rush. After the driver got out of the loo, he took his time and chatted to the bus driver.in the bus behind. He then finally got on his bus and drove to the stop and let us in. Isn't it wonderful how God, who controls ti...

Seeing the End in the Beginning

"That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been;" Ecclesiastes 3: 15 ---- I was telling my flatmate about a guy I was flirting with until I found out he was over 25 years younger than I, which put me right off him. "I'm not exactly Joan Collins," I said.  (JC's husband is 31 years younger than her). "You attract young men because you look so young," she said. "Another thing, he's non-Christian, which is a no-go area." "No point wasting your time on someone who doesn't share your values," she said. "That's the great thing I find about getting older - I can see the end in the beginning so I don't have to waste my time," I said. "That's a nice way to put it," she chuckled.  😆

God Sees All Time

Image
"My times are in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 "But the hour is coming, and now is." John 4: 23, John 5: 25, John 16: 32, NKJV ---- Today's maximum day temperature is 3C/37F, which is bitterly cold for London. According to the BBC weather app, this cold snap is only going to last for five more days and then the temperature is expected to  rise to 11C/51F and even higher. The weather forecast reminds me of  God who can see all time as it is taking place in the eternal now. When I trust in Jesus Christ, who is in all time, He can make me have wonderful experiences and encounters. The other day, when I got off the bus, I noticed two women getting off at the same stop. One woman looked at me and said hello. I politely said hello back.  It was only whenI looked closely at her face that I realised it was my cousin. (Her mum and my mum are actually half-sisters, same dad different mums). The last time I saw her was in 2019. We intended to keep in touch then Covid happ...

Separated for Only a Moment

Image
"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3: 8 ---- One thing I love about Star Trek is the way they explore different timelines and dimensions, which align with my Christian faith. More on this later.7 In the episode, "The City on the Edge of Forever" (TOS, S1, E28),  Kirk and Spock enter this time portal to rescue McCoy.  They end up travelling back in time from the 23rd to the 20th century.  I won't say what happens because of spoilers. Suffice it to say, they did find McCoy. When Kirk and Spock return through the time portal, Scotty says, "What happened, sir? You only left a moment ago." Spock says, "We were successful." It's interesting that Kirk, Spock and McCoy were back in that time for several days, possibly weeks, but in the 23rd century, they were only gone for a moment. Back to my Christian faith, I believe that a 1,000 years in thi...

Complete in Christ

"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power." Colossians 2: 9-10 ---- I hate being late. I am always early unless it can't be helped.l I do get upset with.people who are always late.  As I see it, if you can turn up for work on time, you should be able to arrive on time for me too. If there are circumstances beyond your control, I expect you to text me.  That's why I no longer attend functions organised by people who are never on time. I don't have the time for such nonsense. While I was working at this exhibition, a few of us agency staff had to cover each other for our shifts and breaks. Because I wasn't familiar with the venue, I left early for my first shift. After working at that position for 40 minutes, a colleague was supposed to take over, but she was a few minutes late which was understandable.. Fortunately, I was going for a 20 minutes break. I deci...

About Cats and Staying the Same

Image
"For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift]. For the Law was given through Moses, but grace [the unearned, undeserved favor of God] and truth came through Jesus Christ.  John 1: 16-17, AMP "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13: 8, NKJV ---- The other day, while I was hanging out with a friend, our conversation took a philosophical twist as we discussed the cats in our lives. (She has a cat called Boo and my flatmate's cat is called Zeus).  My friend said she has often wondered if her cat doesn't get bored doing the same thing day in and day out. I told her I've wondered the same about Zeus. I said humans seem to experience the passage of time which makes them feel anxious if they don't have enough time; or bored if they have too much time. I said I believe cats are simply aw...

About Time

"And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." Mark 2: 27 ---- At the bus stop, I noticed the live timetable was showing my bus as third on the list and it was due in 6 minutes. I thought to myself, "I don't live in time, I am already home." My bus arrived in 2 minutes. When I got off that bus, I had to wait for my last bus. According to the live timetable, my bus was number 2 on the list and due in 25 minutes. As if! 😀 I ignored the timetable and said to myself, "I am already home." I saw myself speaking to my flatmate and then having a shower. My bus arrived two minutes later. I believe time was made for man's use; and it can be speeded up, slowed down or stopped. ❤️

God is Always Early

I've been pondering over how God meets our needs and whether He always meets our needs on time? In the Bible God, speaking through Isaiah, declares: "I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!" Isaiah 65: 24, NLT Since God  promises to answer our needs before we even have them, that means He always meets our needs earlier than expected. Here's one example I experienced today. When I arrived at the bus stop, the live timetable said my bus was number 2 on the list and was due in 10 minutes. I thought, no, I don't believe it. My bus is already here and early. My bus arrived 8 minutes early. I believe since God has already answered and met all our needs, I can receive mine as early as I am open to receive them. ♥️

On Time

(Previously posted on Facebook on 18 5.2021). "My times  are  in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 ----- Now that lockdown has been eased further, I was wondering whether the libraries were now open and fully functional. I phoned my local library and I was told I could come in and work on my laptop, but users are only allowed a two hour slot. I booked a slot for 11 am. On the way to the library, I was pondering on God's allness and thanking Him for being the all. I then walked through this park. As I still had a bit of time, I stopped off to admire the trees and take some photos. When I checked the time on my phone, it was 10.48. Oh no, I'm going to be late for my slot! I hate being late for anything! I started walking really fast. I then told myself to calm down as it doesn't matter if I am slightly late as the slot will still be mine anyway. When I arrived at the library, there was this woman ahead of me speaking to the receptionist.  He gave her a form to fill in. She a...

Thousand Years is One Day

"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." 2 Peter 3: 8 ---- The Bible tells us one day in Heaven is the equivalent of a thousand earth years. In earth terms, mum passed away 9 years this year.  But in Heaven, she's only been there for 0.009 years, which is nothing. If I were to live on earth for 1,000 years, it means mum and I would only have been apart for 1 day.  It just shows that time has no power to separate us from our loved ones. ♥️

Happy Birthday, Mum!

Image
In the realm of time, today would have been your birthday. In your current reality, you are timeless. Thinking of you, Isa. Thank you for playing the role of my earthly mum so well. Love you forever. ❤️

Alarm Clock

I usually wake up every morning around 5am like clockwork. If it's the weekend and I'm not working, I go back to sleep till around 7am. When I'm working on set and it's an early call time, I usually ask the Holy Spirit to wake me up even earlier. Our clocks went forward early this morning, but I still woke up at 5am, which was technically 4am. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for always waking me up at 5am unless I request otherwise.❤️

All Realities Exist in the Present

"I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;" Deutoronomy 30: 19] "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,...But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24: 15 "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end." Ecclesiastes 3: 11 "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17: 20-21 ---- The Bible tells us God has put eternity in our hearts, therefore, all realities must exist in the present. We then have to choose which one to experience.  Here's an example of how it works. Early this morning, I received a ...

God's Vision of Time

Image
When I came out of the library, I spotted a branch of a shop, where I usually get savoury sausage rolls, right opposite. Why not treat myself to one? When I crossed over, the shop was nowhere in sight. I could have sworn I had seen it or was I dreaming? After a few minutes of searching, I decided to get a salt fish pattie from this West Indian shop instead. Later, as I was walking down the road and munching on my patty, I spotted the shop I had been looking for. The shop is actually five minutes walk away from the library, and yet, I had seen it right in front of me. It was now too late to get a sausage roll from them. I have had these kinds of visions many times before. For instance, I would be waiting at the bus stop and I would see the bus I am waiting for approaching, but the actual bus will not physically appear until a few minutes later. It's as if I am able to see the immediate future right in front of me. I believe since all time is now, then I guess that's why I can se...

Nice and Cosy on the Bus

Image
When I arrived at the bus stop, I saw that my bus was number 4 on the Live timetable and was due in 6 minutes. I didn't fancy waiting that long for a bus as it was cold. I thanked God for sending my bus. I told myself it was already at the bus stop and I was already nice and cosy at home. My bus arrived 3 minutes early. During the bus journey, the driver remained at one stop for a lot longer than usual. I realised he was trying to regulate the service as he was early. I hear it's okay for bus drivers to arrive late, but they can get in trouble if they are early. I didn't mind the delay as I was nice and cosy on the bus. Thank you, God, for getting me home safely on a warm bus.

Perfect Timekeeping

Image
M y friend and I were chatting about people who are always late. She told me I'm her only friend who always turns up on time, the others don't. I told her I don't tolerate tardiness, especially now that most people have mobile phones. If you're running late, you can text or call. Otherwise, I find it shows a lack of respect. As I see it, if you can turn up for work on time, you can turn up to see me on time unless there's a genuine emergency that prevents it. Another thing, there are not two versions of me - one that is always on time and the other always late. There is only one me. I presume there is only one of each of us too. That's why there are social events I won't attend because if the event is supposed to start at 11pm, I expect it to start at 11pm. If people start rolling up two hours later, it's a waste of my time and they will never see me again. I'm not yet perfect, but my timekeeping certainly is.

Postal Delivery

I received a card from the post office that they tried to deliver a package and they advised me to either pick it up at the local delivery office or arrange another date for delivery.  It has already taken them 3 weeks to deliver the packet.  I was tempted to let them return it to sender. , I decided to pick it up in two days i.e. Friday. I then had the idea to check when the next postal strikes were. It said Friday and Saturday,  which meant if I don't pick up the package today, I will have to wait till after Christmas. I still wasn't in the mood to go out. Maybe the strikes will not affect the delivery  office. I decided to give the company a call to ask. I was told there was a 50 minutes call waiting time to speak to an adviser.  They also reminded customers to be kind to their staff. I don't want to wait that long! God, could you please speed up the queue so I can speak to an adviser? While I was waiting, I had an idea to look up the company's website and in...

Moving Time

"My times  are  in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 ---- When I got to the bus stop, I noticed my bus was the third bus due in 4 minutes. I asked God to move my bus to the top. I was amazed to see my bus appearing. When I got on the bus and tapped my Oyster card, it didn't work. The next customer tried but it didn't work. The driver had no choice but to let us in, which meant I got to travel for free. Later the driver told us the machine was now working, but it was too late. I was determined to enjoy my free travel. I noticed the machine was working fine for other passengers. Thank you, God, for being in control of time which you can move, speed up, slow down or freeze. ❤️
