The Prodigal Daughter Returns

Today has been the perfect day for me, weatherwise. The morning started off rainy, then it stayed dry,  cloudy, cool, slightly sunny, with a slight breeze. As I was working outdoors, I had a jacket, hat and scarf, but took the hat and scarf off when it got warm. I then put on my goggles when it got sunny and took them off when it was cloudy. I wore my scarf when it got breezy.  I have decided 17C/62F is the perfect summer's day. Anything above that is a heatwave. 😆

"For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away." 1 Corinthians 13: 9-10 ---- At this corporate event I was working at, I was  helping visitors find their way around the huge venue. Every time I showed visitors where to go, 99.9% of them would respond "perfect." I have to say, it does make me cringe when I hear that word because it sounds so insincere.  Why is everything seen as "perfect" these days? When something is perfect, it means there is nothing missing, it is all good. That's hardly the case in the human realm. As the Bible puts it, human beings know things in part and from their own individual perspectives, which means we are never seeing the big picture.    And yet, all I keep hearing is "perfect, perfect, perfect." For now,  I am treating the word "perfect" as the new fashionable term people are using that will soon be replaced by another ...

"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power." Colossians 2: 9-10 ---- I hate being late. I am always early unless it can't be helped.l I do get upset with.people who are always late.  As I see it, if you can turn up for work on time, you should be able to arrive on time for me too. If there are circumstances beyond your control, I expect you to text me.  That's why I no longer attend functions organised by people who are never on time. I don't have the time for such nonsense. While I was working at this exhibition, a few of us agency staff had to cover each other for our shifts and breaks. Because I wasn't familiar with the venue, I left early for my first shift. After working at that position for 40 minutes, a colleague was supposed to take over, but she was a few minutes late which was understandable.. Fortunately, I was going for a 20 minutes break. M y friend and I were chatting about people who are always late. She told me I'm her only friend who always turns up on time, the others don't. I told her I don't tolerate tardiness, especially now that most people have mobile phones. If you're running late, you can text or call. Otherwise, I find it shows a lack of respect. As I see it, if you can turn up for work on time, you can turn up to see me on time unless there's a genuine emergency that prevents it. Another thing, there are not two versions of me - one that is always on time and the other always late. There is only one me. I presume there is only one of each of us too. That's why there are social events I won't attend because if the event is supposed to start at 11pm, I expect it to start at 11pm. If people start rolling up two hours later, it's a waste of my time and they will never see me again. I'm not yet perfect, but my timekeeping certainly is.
