The Prodigal Daughter Returns

(Previously posted on Facebook on 25.10.2018) While I was speaking to the bank, they put me on hold and this music came on (see link below).  It reminded me of how wonderful God is. Years ago, I heard soneone playing the song  and I wondered what the name of the song was. (That was before snartphones). When I saw my friend, who is a musician, I sang a bit of the melody to him and asked him the name of the song but he didn't recognise it. So I let it go.  Early one morning,  around 5am, someone parked their car right underneath my bedroom window playing really loud music. I was so livid, I put out an intention for him to be banished to the ends of the earth but my prayer wasn't answered. He stayed put. The next song that came on was the song I had been wondering about. After that song finished the man drove off. The next time I saw my musician friend, I hummed the full melody which he recognised.  He told me the song was Twilight by Maze. God is aMaze-ing! ♥

Jeremiah 33: 3 ---- On Saturday evening I texted my friend to let her know that I wouldn't be attending church the next day as I had to work. The next day, my friend sent me photos of a church event she was attending. When I told her I had been working at this hospital and museum for pensioners, she told me she almost applied for a role as an occupational therapist at that hospital. After I sent my friend some photos I had taken of the museum and hospital, she told me she had been wondering what the building looks like inside.  I told her God had made a way to answer her wondering by getting me that job and working through me to show her those photos. On the bus yesterday,  this boy (aged around 9) and his mum were sitting across me  The boy told his mum he had just spotted The Shard (the tallest building in the UK). His mum doubted he could see the building so far away. I secretly agreed with his mum. As the bus dtove on, the boy said he could no longer see the building. At some point, he boy pointed to a building in the distance and said it was The Shatd. This time, I secretly agreed with him. I was impressed he could recognise.it from that distance. He told his mum how tall the building was. He seemed to know a lot about the building.  As the bus got closer to the City, The Shard became clearer. Before I got off the bus, I told the boy's mum that I was very impressed rhat her son had spotted the building from such a distance. I  looked for it on the carpet, but I couldn't find it. The studs are not expensive. I can easily replace them, but I love these studs. Lord, please show me where the stud is.  Put it where I can see it. Thank you. I got impatient and went  through my earrings case in case I'd dropped the stud in it, but it wasn't there. I searched the dressing table. Nothing. I looked on the carpet again.  Still nothing. I reminded myself that God knows where everything is. There is nothing hidden that He won't reveal. (Luke 8: 17) I was still feeling sad when I went to bed as I don't like losing stuff. In the middle of the night, I woke up and checked the time on my phone. It was 3.33 am. That has to be a sign. "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us," Ephesians 3: 20 ---- A friend and I had planned to go out for lunch after church to celebrate my birthday.  When I saw her at church, she told me the restaurant we intended to go to was  closed on Sundays. She also said she was helping a group after church. Although I was disappointed, I figured we could go out another time. After the church service, which included a baptism, I went to hang out with some friends and church members. I had some cake which was provided by the baptism family.  One of the church ministers joined us and got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to me and another church member whose birthday is in two days' time. I was going to go home, but I decided to stay for a little while and chat to a church member I've never met before. While I was browsing YouTube, this random.video about the most iconic baseline of the 1980s popped up in my feed. I found it quite interesting as I used to love that song and still do. They used to play it a lot whenI used to go clubbing back in the day.  For me, the unexpected video represents God's Grace that He is constantly pouring on His children. Thank you, God, for the wonderful surprise. I love it! ❤️

"God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; " Romans 4: 17 ---- Where I work, we have to scan visitors' tickets. Sometimes when I ask visitors if they have their tickets, they say yes. I say, "Show me as I need to scan them." It reminds me of the scene in the movie "The Marix" after Neo has downloaded martial arts teachings in his miind, he says, "I know Kung Fu." Morpheus says to him, "Show me!" I was speaking to one of my colleagues about sci-fi films and stuff. He told me while he was working at a VIP event at the same place, an actor was at that event. Turns out it was the same actor from "The Matrix" who had said, "Show Me." Fancy that! After having the same thought for so long, God brought it to life. "My times are in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 ----- I woke up late today. It was one of those moments when you look at your phone and go "Oh sugar!" With God's help, I was able to quickly brush my teeth, iron my clothes, put my makeup on, get ready and leave in 15 minutes. (I had a shower the night before). "And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16: 15 ----- While I was travelling on the tube on the way back from work, I looked up and saw this advert. However, this was no ordinary advert - it was about Jesus. It's good to see evangelism at work on Transport for London. Thank you, Jesus. ❤️  Here's a photo I took of the advert

Psalm 139: 13-14 ---- On the tube, I saw this young lad, possibly in his late teens, with a very dark complexion. He looked stunning. I had this idea to tell him what a nice complexion he had. Before I got off, I told him. You should have seen the smile that lit up his face. I bet he doesn't hear that compliment that often.  I reckon God inspired me to do that. ❤️

So a visitor asked me a question. After I answered it, he said, "Thank you, Sue." I wondered how he knew my name. He must have seen it on my lanyard. I looked down and saw that my lanyard was hidden inside my jacket. There's no way he could have seen my name unless he could see through my jacket. I believe either God had revealed my name to him or he was an angel.  ❤️

A few days ago, while I was volunteering as a steward at a church event, another steward told me her 16 year old daughter would be interested in volunteering at the museum I was working at.  She asked if I knew what the minimum age requirement was. I said I didn't know.  Another steward volunteer, who I happened to work with, offered to find out for her. Today, I returned to work after being off for a few days While I was having lunch at  the staff restaurant, this woman asked if she could share my table. We got chatting and it turned out she was a volunteer at the museum, which reminded me of the conversation I'd had at church. I asked her if she knew anything about young volunteers, but she didn't as she worked with older retired volunteers. (I found out later that the minimum age is 18). Of all of the hundreds of staff who worked at that museum, it's amazing how I had a volunteer sit opposite me at lunch. Only God could arrange that. That's what I love about walk...

At the church I attended today, we were all given flowers to celebrate Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day. (See photo). The Deacon also offered prayers for those whose mothers are no longer with us. At the end of the service, I spoke to the visiting Deacon. It turns out we attended the same Methodist secondary school in Sierra Leone, though I didn't know her then as  she's three years younger than I.  When she mentioned a classmate she's still friends with, I told her I was in the same class as her friend's sister.  How amazing is that? "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." 1 John 4: 8 ---- A couple of months ago, I saw this woman at the bus stop. We met at the bus stop before when there was a huge bus delay. This time, we decided to sit together on the bus. While we were chatting, we discovered we had a things in common including going for long walks.  We exchanged numbers. As she only lives a few minutes from me, we planned to go for a walk soon. The other day, I thought about my friend. Now that Spring is fast approaching, it will be nice to go for a walk with her when we are both free. This morning I decided to pop out to our local supermarket to buy some grocery as I'd run out of food.  As I was walking by the local bus stop, I saw my friend. After exchanging hugs, I told her I've been thinking about her. She said she intended to work from home today, but her Internet was down. As she has to do everything online, she was going to the office to work. I told her we must arrang...

 The other day, I went for a tour of the Methodist church I'm a member of and took some photos including the Supreme Court. Today I went to my local Methodist church. After the service, I chatted to an Elder and asked how he was. He said he and his wife went for a walk last week, ended up at the Supreme Court and had a look round. I told him I had taken a photo of the Supreme Court. I even showed him the photo. How wonderful is that? 😊❤️

Philippians 2: 13 ---- When a colleague at work asked if anyone had some tissues, I reached into my backpack to get some for her. "Your bag looks like Mary Poppins' bag," she said. "From now on I'm going to call you Mary Poppins." "Actually, Mary Poppins is one of my favourite films," I said. A few minutes later, the same colleague asked if anyone had any sweets. I looked in the side of my backpack and pulled out a tin of mints, which I shared with her and several colleagues. "See, you are Mary Poppins!" Funny enough, a previous housemate used to call me Mary Poppins because she said magical things happen around me. Isaiah 9: 6 ---- Early this morning, I heard the Spirit within saying, "I have a wonderful surprise for you!"  I said thank you and gave it no further thought. I had to leave at 5am for a film shoot. I decided to carry some items  I needed for the film shoot in a bag a friend designed for me and gave me as a gift.  While we were waiting to be called on set, I went to get some water from the water dispenser. On the way back, I bumped into a dear friend, who is also a supporting artist/extra. After we hugged, I told her I heard she was working in London last week ago and I would have loved to meet up with her.  I also showed her the bag I was carrying which she gave me as a gift last year. A few days ago, a friend  posted a photo of a famous singer on her Facebook page. She said she wanted to know where the singer got her tights from as she can't find tights that match her skin tone.  I responded that the singer's stylist probably knows where to get them. Fast forward three days later - today, a friend and I attended the Afro Hair and Beauty Live show. I didn't buy anything as they didn't have the products I was interested in. However, I did notice this stall selling tights for various black skin tones. I remembered my friend's post on Facebook so I asked for their website address. which I sent to my friend. Apparently, the same singer, whose photo my friend had posted on her Facebook page, also uses this company's products. Thank you, God, for your many wonderful ways of meeting our needs  ❤️

I've just experienced something wonderful. 😊 A few weeks ago, I lost the back of an earring.  Fortunately, I had spares that I could use from other earrings. Since then, I have hoovered the bedroom carpet twice. This morning I spotted something shiny on the bedroom carpet. When I picked it up, I realised it was the missing back of the earring. Thank you, God, for giving me back the back of my earring. ❤️ A photo of the back of the earring.
