Working at the Film Festival
A couple of weeks ago, while I was chatting to a work colleague, he told me the film festival was on. "Aww, I worked at that film festival last year. It's a shame I haven't been offered any shifts this year." I didn't give the matter any further thought. A few days ago, I emailed my agency and asked if they had any shifts for an art gallery I worked at recently. They said they didn't, but they could offer me a shift at an arts centre on Sunday. I decided to accept the shift and attend a service at a church close by after work. When I arrived, I saw an old friend who is also registered at my agency, but is now a permanent member of staff at the arts centre. I asked her if she knew what was on. She told me I was very lucky as it was the last day of the film festival. Usually, as a steward you get to sit in and watch half of the show and your colleague then watches the second half.
