Loving Songs Just Because

Image
When I was a kid, song lyrics meant nothing to me as I was too young to understand romantic love and stuff. I just liked what I liked because of the beat, rhythm and the singer's voice tone. When I became an adult, the lyrics started having meaning. I could empathise with the twists and turns of romantic love in the lyrics. I'm back at that place I was as a kid where I can listen to romantic songs and the lyrics mean nothing to me because I'm not in love or hankering after romantic love, which isn't real anyway. I can simply enjoy the song for what it is. That, for me, is freedom!  This Jennifer Lopez song is one of my all time favourites as I love it just because I do. I could listen to it for hours on continuous play.  ❤️

Conversation at a Self Ckeckout

I had a brief conversation with this customer beside me at the self-checkout. Me: We come here to shop and they put us to work. Him: Yes, it's a real con and these tills are hard work. Me: The prices keep going up and what do we get?  Both of us: Nothing. Him: We don't even get free food. Both of us burst out laughing. 😄

God’s Infinite Love

When I saw this woman outside this building,  I asked her if she was a tourist. She said she was from Lancashire, a British northerner tourist exploring London for a few days. I asked her if she'd been to the exhibition.  She said no. She had come specifically to look ar the spiral staircase.  She said she loved spiral staircases. I then wished her well. It's interesting how my friend and I went into the same building with different objectives.  I went into that building because I love their library, though I only use their work space. My friend went into the same building to look at their staircase. I believe that building represents the one, infinite, Love of God. Thank you, God, for your gift of Love. ❤️

In Plain Sight

Image
I have observed I tend to only see what I have in my thoughts and ignore things that are in plain sight. That's why I need the Mind of Christ which sees all and knows all things. Speaking of which, there's an interesting exhibition at the Wellcome Collection, which someone brought to my attention.  It's called "Plain Sight." There's a lot to take in. I'll definitely pay another visit in the future. I took a photo of my avatar. You sit in front of this mirror and the image changes. Very interesting. 👍

God is Wonderful

Image
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9: 6 ---- I believe every time I wonder about something, I am invoking the Wonder of God in me. Today I had a desire to go for a walk along the canal  leading to this park I love. I was going to get off at Camden Town, but I didn't fancy walking through the crowd. I was inspired to get off at the stop before where I could join the canal  When I arrived at this lock, I noticed two men and a woman standing there and chatting. The woman was opening up the barrier to let a boat go by.  As I have always wondered how people know how to operate the barriers in canal locks, this was my opportunity to find out. "Excuse me?" I said to the man closest to me. "Do you have to go to a university or college to learn about canal locks?" "You ac

Sons and Daughters of God

I was chatting to a friend who was insisting that we are all sons and daughters of God, jusr like Jesus. I told him that's not what the Bible says. According to the Bible, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1: 12-13) If we were all sons and daughters of God, Jesus would not have made the following distinctions. "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." (John 8: 44) Another way to put it is if he was visiting a country and there was a disaster, the British government is going to arrange for their own nationals to be airlifted from that country. I

Dream of Ayesha

In my dream last night, there was this woman giving me something, but I can't remember what. All I remember was her name was Ayesha. When I woke up, I remembered my mum's  name was Ayesha because her dad was Muslim. After he died, mum converted to Christianity and used the name Isatu instead, Isa for short. Thank you, Isa, for agreeing to play the role of my mum in this human drama. I know you're with Jesus now where you're forever at peace. ❤️

Charity Shops

Although I love buying things from charity shops, I am very fussy about the charity shops I buy from. I find if I want some really classy outfits and handbags, I have to travel to well-to-do areas in south west London.  I once saw this really unusual reversible coat at this charity shop for £65. Although it was in mint condition, I was humming and haa-ing over spending that much on a second hand coat, so I left it. After a few minutes, I returned to the shop and tried the coat on and it fitted me perfectly. I had to get it. The shop assistant told me a coat like that would cost over £200 brand new. I've still got that coat and I love it. A couple of months ago, a friend gave me some money as a birthday gift. I thought I would get a nice handbag at one of my favourite charity shops. The moment I walked into this charity shop, I noticed this really nice backpack and grabbed it. It cost exactly the amount of money my friend had given me. While I was paying for the bag, the shop assist

Working with Young Kids

I've always wondered what it's like to work with young kids as I've never worked with them before. Today, I found out. When I went to try out this autistic primary school, I was asked to assist in a Reception class where the pupils are aged 3 to 4 years old. After about an hour, I knew working with pupils this young wasn't for me. I was only supposed to be there half a day and I was praying fervently for God's Grace to get me through.  When the teacher I was working with put on a video to entertain  some pupils, another pupil changed the video to "It's time to say goodbye." "Why is it playing that song?" she said.  "It's not yet time to say goodbye! "That's because it's time for Me to say goodbye," I chuckled.  Now I know what it's like to work with really young kids. Next!  😄

Bloated Gas

While I was walking home, I was thinking how bloated my stomach was. Why am I feeling so bloated? I immediately noticed this car on the road with the letters "SAG" on the number plate. I realised it was "GAS" in reverse. Are you telling me the bloating is due to gas? Very funny, God! 😄

Adoption

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whomsoever we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." Romans 8: 14- 17 ---- A Facebook friend said he was celebrating today as the day he adopted his dog and best friend seven years ago. He even shared a photo of him and his dog, which I thought was lovely. I am reminded of human adoption. When a human baby is adopted, it's usually because the baby's mum is not able to give her baby the emotional and material care and support it needs. The baby now has a new life in his or her adopted family. S/he is now given a new name and belongs to a new family tree. I believe the same is true for all born aga
