My Mummy and Daddy

Today, I had this conversation with a five year old in the class I was working in: Girl: Have you got a mummy and a daddy? Me: Er, no. Girl: Are they at home? Me: No, I don't have a mummy and a daddy. Girl: Why, are they dead? Me: Yes. Girl: How do you look after yourself? Me: I'm an adult and I can look after myself. Girl: Are you sure? What about your younger brother, who takes care of him? Me: He's a grown man and I'm sure he can take care of himself. Girl: One day I'm going to grow up and become big like you. Me: Yes, you certainly will. That's what I love about working with young kids, you never know what they're going to come out with. 😁 I may no longer have earthly parents, I do have a Father God who takes care of me and is forever with me. ❤️

Gratitude on Set

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4: 6-7 ____ I was working on set as a passerby, where the third AD (assistant dorector) was very kind and grateful to us. Even though it was cold, rained on and off, and we had to keep changing costumes, I wasn't complaining. It was actually a fun shoot. I also enjoyed chatting to fellow SAs (supporting artists) in the holding area. A few of us were asked to do the final night shoot which was fun. At the end of the shoot, the AD thanked us profusely for our efforts. She said they even finished early, though they did leave a scene out. She said she was very happy about how the day went. I wasn't surprised. The more someone is grateful for what I give, the more I want to give. I give thanks to God, the Source and Giver

Kindness on the Tube

It was nice to see kindness on the tube this evening. I let this woman carrying a crutch get on the tube before me, but all the seats were taken. This man immediately let her have his seat. During the journey, a seat became available and this man standing next to it refused to sit down so I sat down. I was very grateful. At another stop, this man with a crutch got on. A passenger beside me offered his seat, but the man refused as he said he was only travelling one stop. I thanked the passenger for his kindness. I look forward to seeing kindness everywhere I go. ❤️

God’s Constant Provision

"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18: 3 ---- So I needed a new anti-virus for my laptop.  I went to my favourite tech store and asked if they had any Black Friday deals. The shop assistant told me it wasn't Black Friday yet. I said, I've noticed Black Friday sales already online. He asked me what kind of anti-virus I was looking for and I told him. He looked  it up online and told me they had one that can cover one device and it was very reasonably priced. When he went to get it, he couldn't find one. He said I could buy one that covers two devices, which costs more than double the price. I insisted I only wanted cover for one device only. He then went to speak to his supervisor.  Both of them returned and told me if I didn't mind waiting, they will try and find one in their stockroom. In about 15 minutes, I had my anti-virus. I was really grateful fo

God Gets All the Glory

"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10: 31 ---- A few months ago, a friend who works as a security guard at this art centre, told me she was concerned about her new employer cutting back on her shifts. She is only meant to work part time at the weekend, but they had drastically reduced the number of days she could work in the month. She had another job working from home, which she was finding very stressful. I told her I will pray for her and assured her everything will work out. She was doubtful, but said she will start going to her Catholic church. Since then, we've exchanged the odd text to say hello, but I haven't seen her to have a proper catchup. Yesterday, I went to the arts building where my friend works hoping to see her. I was happy to hear she was working that day.  When we met up for a chat, she told me her employer had done a volte face about her. One minute he wasn't offering her any s

God Preserves My Phone

While I was doing the household chores, I had my phone in the back pocket of my jeans as I was expecting a call, thar I didn't want to miss. As I was cleaning the bathroom, I heard a plop in the toilet. To my horror,  I realised I had dropped my phone in the toilet. As soon as I retrieved the phone, which was in the case, a notification came up saying that there was suspected moisture in the phone charging port and I shouldn't use the charger until it's dry. It suggested I could use a wireless charger instead. I didn't even know "wireless charger" was a thing. I started praying for my phone to be okay.  Psalm 121: 7 came to mind:  "The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul." Instead of "soul", I kept thinking "he shall preserve thy phone" which made me chuckle. 😄 The notification  lfinally went off when the phone port was dry.  I then charged the phone with my mobile charger bank. However, I was still

Finger Tip Healed in No Time

Image
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6: 2 ---- Recently while I was working at this nursery, I accidentally locked my finger in this door. Because I was busy with the babies, I didn't have time to complain about the pain. I decided to pray about it later. By the time I finished work, the finger was now swollen. Even though I prayed about it and affirmed that I am healed, the finger remained stubbornly swollen and painful. After two days, that finger tip had turned black but it no longer hurt. I went to the local chemist and ask the pharmacist for advce. He told he's had a similar experience and it will take at least two weeks for the blocked blood to drain from my finger tip. He suggested I could take pain killers if the finger was hurting. I told him my finger wasn't hurting and I thanked him for his advice. After I left the chemist, I decided I wasn't going to accept the chemist's view of time. I was exp
