About Power

"God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God." Psalm 62: 12

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." Galatians 5: 22-23

During my bus journey, this man got on and sat beside me. His jacket stank of cigarette smoke. The smell was so pungent, I could feel a burning sensation in my throat.  I didn't want to sit beside him. I was hoping he wasn't travelling all the way to the last stop.

I  had a thought to bless him instead.

I asked God to bless him with love. I also blessed all the passengers with love.

He then took his jacket off, which took away the strong cigarette smell, though there was still a whiff of it on his clothes.

I then had another thought. Why am I giving cigarette all that power? It has no power over me. The moment I had the thought, some passengers in front got off and my friend beside me swapped seats for the duration of the journey.

All power comes from God, not people or things. ❤️

So I put a quiche in the oven to heat it up. By the time I checked it again, it was overdone. I had to scrape the burnt bits off. I didn't share that information with my flatmate, who was at work at the time. The very next day, my flatmate bought me the exact same quiche from the supermarket. I told her I had "cooked" a quiche the day before but it was more burnt than cooked. I believe God had inspired my flatmate to buy that quiche for me. It was His way of saying, if at first you don't succeed, try again.😊 Tomorrow I will have the quiche and be sure to follow the heating instructions. If God is Sovereign, Why is there Evil?

It is written in the Bible that God is in complete control and rules over all. (Psalm 103: 19l If God is sovereign and in control of the entire universe, why is there so much evil in the world? In other words, why does He allow evil to continue? The Bible tells us that because God is extremely patient, He gives us many second chances to enable us to repent or change our ways, as He doesn't want anyone to perish. (2 Peter 3: 9) That's why God allows men to continue in their sin. At a time of God's choosing, He brings down the proud. (Daniel 4: 37) One example in the Bible is  the life of King Nebuchadnezzar. God sent a  dream to the king to warn him about his sins and how he was exalting himself above God.  If he did not repent, he would temporarily lose his kingdom and be driven away from human society and end up eating grass like animals.  The king did not heed God's warning. About Angels

Do I believe in angels? I have always believed in angels. Years ago when a van came from nowhere and almost ran me over, someone pulled me out of the way. I turned round to thank the person, but there was no one there, at least they were not visible to my senses. I believe I was saved by an angel. When I followed the New Age, the belief was you could call on angels to do your bidding. Some people even worshipped angels. As a Christian, I now follow the teachings in the Bible. Angels appear frequently in the Bible. In the Bible: - Angels are God's messengers. For instance  the angel Gabriel was sent by God to tell the virgin Mary that she had been chosen to be the mother of Jesus. (Luke 1: 19) - Angels are sent by God to protect His people or fight various battles.(Psalm 91: 11-12; Revelation 12: 7) - Angels are not there to be at people's beck and call.
