Jesus Makes My Burdens Light

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest....For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11: 29, 30

-----

Before we let members of the audience into our section of the auditorium, my colleague and I had to check the fire exits and make sure they were clear.

My colleague and I walked down different staircases which led to the same place. As I walking down the winding staircase, I was thinking there's a lot of steps.  When I got down, I opened the fire exit doors and they were clear. My colleague also opened the other fire exit doors and they were fine. We could have walked around the building, enter and get the lift back up to level 5, but it was raining heavily and we didn't want to get wet.  It was time to walk up.

At the bottom of my staircase, I prayed, "Lord, I need your help to climb these steps."

As I was walking up, I was thinking "light, light, light."

The walk up was a lot easier and light than it would have been if I had done it with my own strength. In fact, I got up before my colleague, who is over 30 years younger than me. When she arrived, she said she found those steps hard to climb. I told her Jesus had helped me to climb those steps.

Thank you, Lord, for making my burdens light. ❤️
