What Seems Right

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." Proverbs 14: 12 ---- I find the above Proverb to be true. There are times when you are excited about something and believe you're doing the right thing at that moment and it seems to be going well. Somewhere down the road, it all goes pear shaped. That's why it's important to let God be your guide every step of the way. He who knows the past, present and future will let you know whether your choice is the right one or not. That happened to me while I was in this special relationship with someone I believed I was going to marry. I was devastated when the relationship broke down. Now I know it would never have worked out in the long term as we would have been on different paths. I'm a Christian and he is not. You cannot be yoked to an unbeliever. (See 2 Corinthians 6: 14) Thank you, God, for steering me in the right direction.❤️ ---- "Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all H

Great Shoot!

We had a great shoot today with dry weather; lots of fun and laughter with my colleagues; and the meal was so delicious I took some home. We also wrapped early, which was a bonus. Four of us girls walked to the station together. Thank you, God, for an easy, fun and wonderful day. ❤️

Free Tissues

Image
"Freely you have received, freely give." Matthew 10: 8 ---- About two weeks ago, I found a packet of tissues on the pavement, which I picked up. Today, I finally put the tissues in my rucksack in case I needed them. On the train to work, this young lady sitting beside me asked me if I had any tissues. I pulled out the packet and offered her two of them. I find it interesting how the moment I put the tissues I had freely received in my rucksack, God sent me someone who needed some. In fact,  I don't remember any adult ever asking me for tissues before. As I freely receive,  I freely give. ❤️ Photo of the packet of tissues .

Church Hymns

Image
The last time I attended my local Methodist church, I complained to the organist about an unfamiliar tune he had played for a hymn I loved.  Today after the service finished, the organist asked me if I was happy with all the tunes. I told him I wasn't very familiar with the tune used for the last hymn. He told me he had something to show me. I accompanied him to his organ. He pulled out this book and said that's where he got the tune I wasn't keen on two weeks ago.  He also played two hymns and asked if I recognised them. I vaguely did. He then asked me to sing the hymn in the tune I knew and I sang two lines, but couldn't remember the rest of the melody. After I looked it up on YouTube, I shared it with the organist and he recognised it.u The organist said although he's willing to accommodate my likes and dislikes, he thinks I'm still too attached to my old school tunes. 😊 That's what I like about small churches, you can influence them to make changes more

Lost Phone Found

Image
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6: 33 ---- Over the last few weeks, I have been attending a local Methodist church, which is a lot closer to home than the one I belong to. After the service, they offer tea/juice and biscuits and you can chat to members and other attendees. (I don't drink tea, I have juice). Two weeks ago, after I introduced myself to a senior member of the church, she said, "Can I ask you a favour?" "Of course!" "I have misplaced my phone. Could you pray for me to find it?" "Yes. I believe God knows where your phone is and He will reveal it to you." "I know there are lots more important things in the world to pray about," she said, "but I don't want to lose my phone." "I believe God cares about everything that concerns us, large and small including your phone. You will find it," I assured her. Last week,

Questions Answered Perfectly

"Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." Isaiah 65: 24, NIV ---- One morning, while I was waiting at the bus stop, the bus timetable kept saying there was one due in one minute, but that one minute was taking forever. By then, there were several of us at the stop and we were wondering about the delay. I had intended to travel by bus to work but it was now too late to travel by bus all the way. I was going to have to catch the tube when the bus finally arrived.  I thought, Lord, what's going on? Why is our bus delayed? Please send our bus! Within a minute, a woman walking by stopped and told us that she had been on the first bus. She said when the bus driver refused a passenger entry because they didn't have the right fare, the passenger flipped and started kicking the door and the window.  The driver had to terminate and call the police. That was why there was a huge delay. We thanked the woman for letting us know and I also thanked

Free Food and Drink

At the last event I worked at, they provided meals. I was hoping this week's event would be the same. Alas, thid was a different company and agency. I quickly learned to buy my own. Yesterday, while I was having a break in the staff room, this man came in with a box of sandwiches which he said we could have. I took two which I kept for my next break. Later, another man approached me and a colleague and gave us cans of fizzy drinks. Thank you, God, for providing food and drink that I didn't have to pay for. ❤️

Perfect, Not!

"For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away." 1 Corinthians 13: 9-10 ---- At this corporate event I was working at, I was  helping visitors find their way around the huge venue. Every time I showed visitors where to go, 99.9% of them would respond "perfect." I have to say, it does make me cringe when I hear that word because it sounds so insincere.  Why is everything seen as "perfect" these days? When something is perfect, it means there is nothing missing, it is all good. That's hardly the case in the human realm. As the Bible puts it, human beings know things in part and from their own individual perspectives, which means we are never seeing the big picture.    And yet, all I keep hearing is "perfect, perfect, perfect." For now,  I am treating the word "perfect" as the new fashionable term people are using that will soon be replaced by another

Mind Control

At this corporate event, I was co-hosting workshops which involved letting people in, ensuring that we stop attendees coming in after a certain time. After the workshop finished, we had to get the room ready for the next one. On the first day, although there were barriers on the doors, attendees were ignoring them and treating the room like a dining hall. They argued that as they were attending the workshop, while they were waiting for the workshop to start, they might as well sit in and eat/have their beverages and plug in their devices. At the end of each workshop, it took ages for some of them to leave as they were either busy chatting or working on their laptops. The next day, the organisers decided no one should be allowed in before the workshop started.  When people asked if they could come in and have their beverages, we said no. We told them they could only come in 15 minutes before the workshop started. At the end of each workshop, we asked the attendees to leave as we needed

God Sees All Time

Image
"My times are in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 "But the hour is coming, and now is." John 4: 23, John 5: 25, John 16: 32, NKJV ---- Today's maximum day temperature is 3C/37F, which is bitterly cold for London. According to the BBC weather app, this cold snap is only going to last for five more days and then the temperature is expected to  rise to 11C/51F and even higher. The weather forecast reminds me of  God who can see all time as it is taking place in the eternal now. When I trust in Jesus Christ, who is in all time, He can make me have wonderful experiences and encounters. The other day, when I got off the bus, I noticed two women getting off at the same stop. One woman looked at me and said hello. I politely said hello back.  It was only whenI looked closely at her face that I realised it was my cousin. (Her mum and my mum are actually half-sisters, same dad different mums). The last time I saw her was in 2019. We intended to keep in touch then Covid happ

Quiche

Image
The other day, while I was shopping for food, I looked at some Quiche and wondered whether to get a box. I decided not to. Yesterday when I came home from.work, my flatmate told me she had heated some vegetarian Quiche and I was welcome to have half of it. I wasn't in the mood, but decided to save my half. Today, I had my half of the Quiche and it was delicious. Thank you, God, for providing the Quiche in an unexpected way. ❤️ Photo of the Quiche

Thank You, God!

On the way to church, I was praising and thanking God. At church, I was really excited when I saw the first hymn was "Now Thank We All Our God,"  but the melody wasn't one I was familiar with. I noticed several people frowning as they weren't familiar with that tune either. I had problems following the melody and I sang the tune I love. After the service, I went to complain to the organist. I told him I've loved that hymn since I was a child and was really disappointed when he played another tune. He was very sympathetic and said sometmes people prefer old tunes and he can't please everyone. He said it was the lay preacher who had asked him to play that particular tune.I  So I went to speak to thw lay preacher and told her how disappointed I was with the tune that was played. She told me she's an organist and lots of churches play that tune. I told her I've never heard it before.i thanked her anyway for the service. On the way out, I saw the organist a

Don't Care about Your Clothes

Image
When I heard Zeus (my flatmate's cat) knocking on my bedroom door, I quickly put on my dressing gown before I opened the door. After His Royal Highness entered and climbed on my bed, I thought to myself, why did I put my dressing gown on? Zeus doesn't care whether I am dressed or undressed, he just needed his morning attention. 😆 Photo of Zeus on my bed ❤️

Cat Love

Image
It's okay for Zeus (my flatmate's cat) to run up and down my bedroom, lie on my bed, fall asleep on my chest and push his bum (bottom) on my face. The moment I cough, that cat is nowhere to be seen. That's cat love for you! 😆

Separated for Only a Moment

Image
"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3: 8 ---- One thing I love about Star Trek is the way they explore different timelines and dimensions, which align with my Christian faith. More on this later.7 In the episode, "The City on the Edge of Forever" (TOS, S1, E28),  Kirk and Spock enter this time portal to rescue McCoy.  They end up travelling back in time from the 23rd to the 20th century.  I won't say what happens because of spoilers. Suffice it to say, they did find McCoy. When Kirk and Spock return through the time portal, Scotty says, "What happened, sir? You only left a moment ago." Spock says, "We were successful." It's interesting that Kirk, Spock and McCoy were back in that time for several days, possibly weeks, but in the 23rd century, they were only gone for a moment. Back to my Christian faith, I believe that a 1,000 years in thi

Russian Christmas Day

Image
Two weeks ago, while I was going for a walk, I noticed this Methodist church. I made a mental note to attend their service when I don't fancy travelling into central London to atrend my church. Today, I was inspired to attend this Methodist church for the first time. After the service, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I spoke to a church elder. He showed me a room where a Russian service was taking place. He said they were  celebrating Christmas. I told him I'm aware it's Russian Christmas day today as my flatmate is from Russia. I said she would have loved to attend the service if she knew about it. After the Russian service was over, they had some food to share. I had a chat with a few of the members and even had some Russian food and snacks. I then took some snacks home for my flatmate. My flatmate was delighted to hear about the church service. Thank you, God, fo r bringing this church to my attention.  ❤️ Merry Christmas to all my Russian friends! 🎄✝️

Asking Jesus to Do Everything

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12: 9 ----- Before I left home, I was feeling fine. By the time, I arrived at work, I was coughing so much I wanted to go home. After our duty brief, I noticed I was meant to be doing ticketing during the first hour, which I don't like doing. The duty  manager told me I could swap with someone else. Another colleague agreed to swap my ticketing shift with his lobby shift. At first I didn't mind as I like chatting to people.  It was then I remembered I was coughing. I can't be coughing while welcoming guests. That's not professional! What to do? I know. Ask Jesus. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for being my everything and for doing everything. Amen. I was now ready for my first shift. Not only was I no longer coughing, I was enjoying meeting and greeting guests and having fun with them. At one point, I noticed a colleague had this long lock of hair at the back of his he

Jesus as Director!

While I was watching Star Trek Voyager, I noticed Jesus was directing that episode. 😆❤️

Wake Up, Lazarus!

“Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.” John 11: 11 "Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.” Ephesians 5: 14 ---- I needed a document printed that I had to complete and post ASAP.   A friend who lives three miles away from me  lhas a printer and works from home.  I texted him and asked if he could print it for me.  He told me I could pop round this morning. While I was at my friend's, he told me he ordered a Christmas gift for his daughter last November and they were finally delivering it today. I asked him what time they were expected and he said between 11:11 and 11.42. He even showed me their email. I burst out laughing.  "What's so funny about that?" "Because they picked 11:11 as a time of delivery," I said. "Don't you remember what that means?" "No." "It's a wake-up call." "I am wide awake now," he said. "Not physicall

Stopping the Bus

Before I went to catch my bus, I checked when the bus was due to arrive, but the website wasn't working. I then checked an app and it said there was one due in 3 minutes. As it takes about two minutes to walk to the bus stop, I knew I could catch it. While I was walking to the bus stop, I looked behind me and saw the bus approaching. I started running and putting my hand out to beckon for the driver to.stop. I then noticed this man walking towards the bus stop. He also beckoned to the bus driver. When the bus stopped and I was about to get on, I realised the man who had stopped the bus didn't want the bus, he was just helping me out. I shouted thank you and got on. Thank you, God, for  your constant Grace. ❤️
