Unexpected Blessings

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4: 190 ---- When I saw my flatmate, I told her I was finding the weather too hot to go out and I was running out of food. She asked me what I was going to eat. I said I had some eggs so  I was going to make an omelette and have it with baked beans. She told me she had some potatoes and I was welcome to one or two.  I remembered I had a can of tuna, but I didn't have any mayonnaise.  She told me I could have some of hers. She also gave me some sweet corn. Within half an hour I was having a jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise and sweet corn. Later my flatmate popped out to see our neighbour.  She returned with a pair of leggings from her neighbour. Apparently, our neighbour has never worn it.  As it was too small for my flatmate.  She asked me to try it on to see if it fit. It did fit, but it was slightly short. I could wear it with boots. My flatmate then went out. When she

Show Me!

"God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; " Romans 4: 17 ---- Where I work, we have to scan visitors' tickets. Sometimes when I ask visitors if they have their tickets, they say yes. I say, "Show me as I need to scan them." It reminds me of the scene in the movie "The Marix" after Neo has downloaded martial arts teachings in his miind, he says, "I know Kung Fu." Morpheus says to him, "Show me!" I was speaking to one of my colleagues about sci-fi films and stuff. He told me while he was working at a VIP event at the same place, an actor was at that event. Turns out it was the same actor from "The Matrix" who had said, "Show Me." Fancy that! After having the same thought for so long, God brought it to life. Very funny, God! 😊❤️ Here's a clip from the film.

Jesus as My Plus One

When a friend invited me to her wedding, she asked if I would be bringing a plus one. My response was, "Jesus will be my plus one, but he will be invisible to all of you."  While Jesus is my plus one, He is never alone as God is one. There is the Father God who is constantly loving me through His Son, Jesus Christ. There is Jesus, who died for me that I may truly live.  There is the Holy Spirit, the Helper, who lives  in me, and is constantly working in and through me.  Wherever I am, God is one.❤️ ---- Related Bible verses "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:" Deutoronomy 6: 4 "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,    nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 38-39 "There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calli

Woke Up Late

Image
"My times are in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 ----- I woke up late today. It was one of those moments when you look at your phone and go "Oh sugar!" With God's help, I was able to quickly brush my teeth, iron my clothes, put my makeup on, get ready and leave in 15 minutes. (I had a shower the night before). I  arrived at the station early:  I even arrived at work an hour early Thank you, God.❤️ A photo of me waiting at the train station

Evangelism on the Tube

Image
"And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16: 15 ----- While I was travelling on the tube on the way back from work, I looked up and saw this advert. However, this was no ordinary advert - it was about Jesus. It's good to see evangelism at work on Transport for London. Thank you, Jesus. ❤️  Here's a photo I took of the advert

Making Room for New Blessings

I usually listen to music on YouTube. I decided to add a particular song on my playlist on my Spotify account only to discover that all the songs on my playlist had been erased.  It must have happened when I downloaded the new Windows 11 on my laptop. Oh well, I will just have to build a new playlist. Sometimes, you need to let go of the old and let in new blessings. Thank you, Lord! ❤️ Edit: God just showed me how to synchronise my songs from the app to my laptop so I got my old songs back. ❤️

If at First You Don't Succeed

So I put a quiche in the oven to heat it up. By the time I checked it again, it was overdone. I had to scrape the burnt bits off. I didn't share that information with my flatmate, who was at work at the time. The very next day, my flatmate bought me the exact same quiche from the supermarket. I told her I had "cooked" a quiche the day before but it was more burnt than cooked. I believe God had inspired my flatmate to buy that quiche for me. It was His way of saying, if at first you don't succeed, try again.😊 Tomorrow I will have the quiche and be sure to follow the heating instructions. Thank you, Lord, for caring about everything that concerns me including cooking. ❤️

How His Truth Set Me Free

"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8: 32 ---- A few days ago, I posted a video clip of me dancing at a staff party.  Did you know two hours before that party, I was struggling healthwise? Here's the back story. As I had been off for a few days on leave, I was enjoying my downtime. I didn't fancy going all the way into central London on my day off. When I asked God if I should attend, I immediately had a vision of myself all dressed up in the outfit I was going to wear and seeing myself dancing. OK, I'll go. I usually catch the tube in to work. As I had lots of time, I decided to catch the bus instead. On the bus I started feeling sick as if I was getting a stomach upset. If this feeling continued, I was going to just get off and get the bus back home. Why would God give me the go-ahead to attend the party if I was going to be sick? Surely our all-knowing God knew this was going to happen?  What is the truth here, Lord? There is a fa

About Memory

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s." Psalm 103: 2-5 ----- A few days ago, I received a text from my friend to tell me she went to work and forgot she'd left eggs boiling on the cooker. Her neighbour upstairs started smelling smoke and called her. She called the fire brigade who quickly broke into her place and switched the cooker off. They also aired out her home. I told my friend she was blessed her neighbour had been present. I suggested she gets into the habit of praying and asking the Holy Spirit to help her with everything including  reminding her not to leave stuff on. Today, I was watching Joseph Prince today (a pastor in Singapore) and he asked if there were people in the congregation who

The Right Time

"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3: 1 ---- As I have some downtime, I decided I was going to consciously spend my time with the Lord.  While I was watching a Christian TV channel, I saw this guy delivering a sermon about Jesus as a time traveller, which I found fascinating.  I then watched him being interviewed which inspired me to get his book. Just as I was about to download the Kindle version on my app, I was reminded I already had it on my App. Apparently,  I bought it two years ago, but I hadn't read it. I guess now is the perfect time to read it. ❤️ I'm enjoying it so far. Dream of Hope

"Now faith is the [a]substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."  Hebrews 11: 1 ---- In my dream, I was holding this huge carton of milk. I then thought to myself that I hope I didn't spill it. The carton instantly fell to the floor and split open. I apologised to the person I was with and grabbed a cloth to clean the floor. When I woke up, I pondered over the meaning of the dream. I realised it's about hope. The other day,  at work I thought to myself:  "I hope X doesn't happen."   What I was hoping doesn't happen did happen. That's the power of hope.  Whenever I hope for something or hope something doesn't happen it still does. The lesson in that dream is to always hope for what I want to happen.

When God Shuts a Door

On the way home from work, I stopped off at a store to get some groceries.  I then caught the tube.  When I got out of the tube station, I noticed one of my buses was just about to drive off. I knocked on the doors and the driver let me in. A few seconds later, I realised I had got on the wrong bus. In my head, I was frantically working out an alternative route. Maybe, I could catch the bus in front. When the bus stopped, I got off and tried to get on the one in front, but I was too slow and it drove off. I could either walk or catch a bus back to the tube station. I walked for about 10 minutes with my bag of shopping to the tube station where I got the correct bus home. I believe the shut door of the bus represents things that are not right for me. When  I go banging on those shut doors or forcing them to open, I end up going down the wrong path. The good news is God's mercy is inexhaustible and He always provides new opportunities for me to get back on track.❤️

My Companion, Zeus

I'm cat-sitting again for a few days while my flatmate is away. Here is Zeus keeping me company while I was getting ready for work. He's so adorable!  Thank you for keeping me company, Zeus! ❤️

What a Bargain!

God's blessings take many different forms. At the staff restaurant,  I bought two toasts, banana and two tubs of magazine for the princely sum of 65p. What a bargain! ❤️

General Election

"What has been will be again,     what has been done will be done again;     there is nothing new under the sun. 10 Is there anything of which one can say,     “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago;     it was here before our time." Ecclesiastes 1: 9-10, NIV " It is  better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes." Psalm 118: 9 ---- Over the last few months, I've made friends with a fellow bus passenger. We enjoy our rides together to the local tube station where I usually get off. When I saw my friend this morning, I asked if she'd heard that Labour has won the general election. "I heard," she said. "It makes no difference to me who is in government." "I know what you mean. For me, Jesus is King," I said. "Sometimes, people need to have certain governments to learn lessons from them and then switch governments. "The Tories were in power for a long time before Blair won it for Lab

Pizza

When I arrived home, I notced my flatmate had just finished heating some pepperoni pizza. She asked me if I wanted a few slices and I said yes. She apologised that the pizza was overdone. I agreed it wasn't the best, but I still had the slices and was grateful. The next day, I was off work. A friend texted me. After a series of long funny exchanges, we arranged to meet up so he could take me out for lunch. When we met, I told him I fancied some pizza. He took me to this nice pizza place, which had even won awards. I had a pepperoni pizza and it was the best I've ever had. My portion was so large, I asked for a doggie bag to take the rest with me, which I gave to my flatmate. She said the pizza was amazing. Thank you, God, for your many blessings. ❤️

Stunning!

"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well." Psalm 139: 13-14 ---- On the tube, I saw this young lad, possibly in his late teens, with a very dark complexion. He looked stunning. I had this idea to tell him what a nice complexion he had. Before I got off, I told him. You should have seen the smile that lit up his face. I bet he doesn't hear that compliment that often.  I reckon God inspired me to do that. ❤️

Living Like Zeus

"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3: 22-23 ----- Every time my flatmate's cat, Zeus, comes into my bedroom, he acts like it's the first time he's been in there. He climbs on the furniture and sniffs everything. He even sniffs me. I'm reminded of a conversation I had a while back with a friend about our cat friends. We decided it must be tedious being a cat doing the same thing over and over again. Just as God pours new mercies on His children every day, every day I bring in new smells into my living space for Zeus to experience. That means Zeus isn't bored, he's living his best life. From now on, I'm going to be like Zeus and expect to sniff out God's new love, new joy, new blessings, new peace, new grace, new wisdom etc. Thank you, Zeus. ❤️ Here's a video of Zeus doing his cat thing while I was loving on him. ❤️
