Only God is Good

"So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one  is  good but One,  that is,  God." Luke 18: 19 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1: 17 ---- A friend was lamenting over why every time she does something good, it always turns out bad. I told her I believe if the "good" deed is coming from the human heart, which is sinful,  the "good" deed will get distorted. I said when the good deed is coming from God and being expressed through the individual, then the deed will be consistently good. Only God is good. ❤️

Pruning - Revisited

Image
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit." John 15: 1-2 ---- Before my flatmate went away on holidays, she asked me to not only look after her cat, but to water her plants both inside and out. The first thing I noticed was the Orchid flowers were dropping off.  By the time my flatmate returned, two weeks later, one Orchid plant had lost all of its flowers and the other Orchid plant had lost half.  My flatmate showed me the leaves were still looking very healthy. She said both plants simply needed pruning of the parts that are now dead. She assured me the flowers will grow back. I told her it's rather like how God prunes His children of people, things and circumstances that are no longer right for them. Sometimes, they don't want to let go because they are afraid. What they don't realise is that it's all part of their grow

The Way, The Truth and The Life

"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." " -John 14:6 ---- While I had my eyes closed, I saw the following words scrolling in front of me. "THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE." Thank you, Jesus, for revealing Yourself to me! ❤️

To Attend or Not to Attend?

I was invited to a church barbecue which meant  I  would have to catch a train there. Although I like travelling by train, I wasn't feeling excited. Every time I decided to go, I got a thought not to attend. I decided I would know nearer the time. A day before the event, when a work colleague came in, the first thing she said to me was the trains were on strike again. She gave me a flyer with the information. The first date listed was the day of the barbecue. They said there would be very limited service. That's it, I'm not going! Thank you, God, for inspiring my work colleague to share that information with me. ❤️

How ro Avoid the Rat Race

When I arrived at the tube (underground) station, the line I wanted was heaving with passengers and it took a while to get down the escalator. A member of staff advised passengers travelling north to walk all the way down the platform where the next train is likely to be less crowded.  Naturally, passengers ignored the staff's suggestion and stayed at the top of the platform, which was overcrowded.  I knew with all that crowd, it was going to take ages for me to get on a tube, let alone get a seat. I decided to travel on the next train going south, in the opposite direction, get off at the next stop, then catch another train going north. When I eventually caught the tube train going north, it was not only stree-free, I was able to get a seat all the way until I had to change to another line. The easiest way to avoid the rat race is not to join the rat race. 😀

Birthday Gift

Image
At church, my friend gave me a birthday card. When I opened it, I was delighted and very grateful to find some money in the card. I decided to use the gift to top up my Oyster card (travel card). The Lord giveth and TFL (Transport for London) taketh away. 😀😀😀

Cat Fight

While I was in my bedroom, I heard cats shrieking in the living room. I popped out to see what was happening.  I noticed a tomcat who lives in the neighbourhood had come in through the open window.  Zeus, our resident tomcat, was having none of it. I told the other cat to get out and Zeus chased him out. I understand cats have their fights over territory, but it's really cheeky to come into another cat's domain. Having said that, Zeus does pop in and out of neighbours' flats. He's even been caught having a snooze on a neighbours bed. Maybe, that other cat only wanted to have a catnap on mine or my flatmate's bed. 😀

Doubting Thomas

He may have been doubting Thomas, but it was because of his question that Jesus revealed himself as the way, truth and life. ---- 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  (John 14: 3-6) ---- After Jesus was resurrected, he appeared to his disciples, but doubting Thomas wasn't present at the time. When the disciples told him about Jesus, he didn't believe and wanted to see Jesus's scars. The next time Jesus appeared to his disciples, doubting Thomas was present.  When Jesus showed his scars to doubting Thomas, he said, "My Lord and my God." (John 20: 24-29) I find it interesting while Jesus was in Nazareth, the people's u

From Dystopia to Utopia

Image
"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6: 33 ---- While I was having a chat with a friend on Facebook about this film, I described it as dystopic. Later, during my bus journey home, I noticed a shop called Utopia. For months now I've been travelling on that bus route, but I've never "seen" that shop.  I believe it only stood out today after I thought of a film as dystopic. Utopia is the opposite of dystopia. 😊 It just shows how everything already exists, but I only notice things that I am aware of in my thoughts. That's why it's important to thnk of God or be God-conscious then dystopia is transformed into utopia.😀

About Cats and Staying the Same

Image
"For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift]. For the Law was given through Moses, but grace [the unearned, undeserved favor of God] and truth came through Jesus Christ.  John 1: 16-17, AMP "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13: 8, NKJV ---- The other day, while I was hanging out with a friend, our conversation took a philosophical twist as we discussed the cats in our lives. (She has a cat called Boo and my flatmate's cat is called Zeus).  My friend said she has often wondered if her cat doesn't get bored doing the same thing day in and day out. I told her I've wondered the same about Zeus. I said humans seem to experience the passage of time which makes them feel anxious if they don't have enough time; or bored if they have too much time. I said I believe cats are simply aw

God Makes always Makes a Fuss Over Me

"The Lord has appeared of old to me,  saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.'" Jeremiah 31: 3, KJV ---- I was telling a friend yesterday about how God always makes a fuss over me on my birthday. Around 10.30pm, I received a WhatsApp message from God wishing me happy birthday and blessings.thank  The message was actually from my cousin whose initials are G.O.D. who shares the same birthday as me. As he lives in Asia, it was already his birthday so he texted me to wish me mine. As a D.O.G. i.e daughter of God, my Father God always makes a fuss over me on my birthday and every day. God loves me. ❤️

Happy Birthday to

Image
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;.” Jeremiah 1: 5 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John 3:  6 ---- Today is my birthday, or is it?  🤔 I know from my past near death experience and several out- of-body experiences that I am spirit.   In other words, I am eternally spirit in this human experience and outside of it.  God created me in this current form and placed me in my mother's womb for a purpose.  Today, I celebrate the day that I came out of my mother's womb into this world. (Thank you, mum)! ❤️ To celebrate my birthday,  I went out with an old friend.  First, we went to this immersive art experience consisting of 4 main galleries.  In each gallery, there are different masterpieces  which you either immerse yourself in or interact with. (see https://frameless.com/). For me, the art galleries represent the human experience. I was the same when I walked in

Free Travel

When the bus arrived, the passenger in front of me tapped his Oyster card, but the machine didn't work. The driver let him in. I tapped mine and the machine didn't work either and I got on. As the passenger in front of me was an elderly gentleman, I presume he had a Freedom pass which allows him to travel for free anyway.  I have a normal Oyster card that deducts fares as you travel. So I got to travel for free. I noticed after I got on, the machine worked for the next passenger behind me and continued to work for the entire journey. Thank you, God, for giving me free travel.❤️

Oneness with God

"But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." 1 Corinthians 6: 17 ---- At the art gallery I was working at, I was paired up with this guy for most of my shifts, which we both  found funny. He teased me that we were one person for the day. At one point while we were chatting to another colleague, we were saying the exact same thing at the same time, as if we had the same mind. Our experience got me thinking of my oneness with God. Just as my colleague and I were so at one we were even thinking the same thought, I believe when you are one with God, His Spirit is your spirit, His  Mind is your mind and His Life is your life. At shifts where I had to stand up, I reminded myself that as I am one with Spirit, We are standing as one. I found I  had the stamina to keep going and not feel tired. At another shift when I was meant to be sitting down, I gave up my seat for a younger colleague who needed to sit down. Thank you, God, for using my art gallery shifts to reveal

Pruning

Image
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [a]takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit." John 15: 1-2 ---- A few days ago,  some friends admired my long finger nails. One friend was convinced I had had the white tips of my nails painted. I told her my nails were natural.  I am constantly asked if I've had my nails done. I find it interesting how some people are so used to fake stuff, they have difficulty distinguishing the real from the fake. Yesterday evening, I decided to clip my toe nails. I then decided it was time to cut my finger nails so they can grow evenly. As much as I loved my nails, I had no attachment to them as I know they will grow back.  Early this morning, while I was watching this Christian channel, I noticed two pastors were preaching about how as part of our spiritual growth, God requires that we go through a pruning process. I could relate to that as I

Rescheduled Meeting Worked Out for the Good

7"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8: 28 ---- I had a meeting this morning, but I didn't feel like attending so I rescheduled it. I also didn't feel like going out either. I pent the morning watching the Christian channel and a couple of the pastors shared exactly what I needed to hear. At dome point, the door bell rang. It was my neighbour from upstairs. She said she had locked herself out, but had left her back door unlocked. She asked if she could go through our flat to access her flat. I let her through. I then received a text from a loved one who needed to chat. We had a long exchange of texts. Later, I received a message to confirm that I didn't need to attend the meeting I had been reluctant to attend this morning and there was no need to reschedule the meeting. Thank you, God, for making everything work out for good. ❤️

Stars in My Eyes

Image
Today I wore my cardigan that has stars on one side of it. On the bus, this woman got on and sat beside me. I noticed she had a dress on that had lots of stars. I pointed to her the stars on my cardigan. She smiled and said we are meant to trsvel together. Just before I got off the bus, I noticed another woman with a jacket with lots of stars. I said to the passenger beside me, "Look, I am surrounded by stars today." "It's just fashion," she said. When I got on the tube (underground train), I didn't  see anyone else wearing anything with stars on them. I did notice this dog sitting across me and I thought it was such a star. I took a sneaky photo of it. I have stars in my eyes. ⭐️❤️ Photos of me waiting for the tube and of the star dog on the tube. 😊

Connecting with Strangers

At the art gallery I've been working at, we give cards out to visitors as they are leaving so they can leave their review of the gallery.  Before I give a card out, I engage with the visitors and ask if they had fun.  I noticed when a male colleague was giving out cards, he simply gave them out. Later I asked two male colleagues why they don't say much.  When a visitor comes in, they simply point  the way.  Both of then laughed and said they have observed I get into a conversation with visitors and almost accompany them to the gallery. "Men don't have conversations, women do that," one said. "I like chatting to people and  giving them love," I said. "I only give energy to those who are going to give me energy back," the other guy said. I tried to imitate the guys, but I couldn't do it. I guess it's my nature to reach out to "strangers."  Thank you, God, for giving me the gift of connecting with "strangers." ♥️

The Cross is My Landmark

Image
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3; 13-14 ---- While I was walking at Regent's Park, I could see BT Tower in the distance, which I used as my landmark to guide me to where I was headed. I know I'm headed in the wrong direction if I can no longer see any part of the BT Tower. It got me thinking of the cross that Jesus was crucified on. I believe the cross is a landmark that reminds me of the price Jesus's crucifixion paid for all humanity for all time. If I am ever feeling"lost" physically, emotionally or spiritually,, all I need to do is either think of the cross or look at a representation of the cross and I'm back on track. Thank you, Jesus, for dying for me on the cross! ❤️ ✝️ Photos of

About Time

"And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." Mark 2: 27 ---- At the bus stop, I noticed the live timetable was showing my bus as third on the list and it was due in 6 minutes. I thought to myself, "I don't live in time, I am already home." My bus arrived in 2 minutes. When I got off that bus, I had to wait for my last bus. According to the live timetable, my bus was number 2 on the list and due in 25 minutes. As if! 😀 I ignored the timetable and said to myself, "I am already home." I saw myself speaking to my flatmate and then having a shower. My bus arrived two minutes later. I believe time was made for man's use; and it can be speeded up, slowed down or stopped. ❤️

Love the Person, Not their Behaviour

"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable," 1 Corinthians 13: 4-5, NLT "For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me." Romans 7: 14-18, NKJV " There is  therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who [ a ]  do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.  2  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8: 1-2, NKJV ---- When I noticed this guy on the bus sitting with his feet resting on the seat opposite him, I started secretly giving him the evil eye. I've learned in the past

Love - A Reminder to Self

Love is patient.  Love is kind.  Love doesn’t envy.  Love doesn’t boast.   Love is not proud.  Love is not rude.  Love is not selfish.  Love is not angry or irritable. Love is not resentful.  Love doesn’t delight in evil.  Love rejoices with the truth. Love protects.  Love trusts.  Love hopes.  Love perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Coripnthians 13: 4-8) ♥️💜❤️💜

God is Always Early

I've been pondering over how God meets our needs and whether He always meets our needs on time? In the Bible God, speaking through Isaiah, declares: "I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!" Isaiah 65: 24, NLT Since God  promises to answer our needs before we even have them, that means He always meets our needs earlier than expected. Here's one example I experienced today. When I arrived at the bus stop, the live timetable said my bus was number 2 on the list and was due in 10 minutes. I thought, no, I don't believe it. My bus is already here and early. My bus arrived 8 minutes early. I believe since God has already answered and met all our needs, I can receive mine as early as I am open to receive them. ♥️

Grateful for Cool Weather

Image
It's another glorious, summer's day in north London. 😊 I actually like it as the weather is cool.  I don't like the heat.  Thank you, God, for the cool summer! ❤️

Healing of Tooth Infection

"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." 1 John 4: 4 "And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you." Romans 8: 11 ---- So yesterday I noticed I had a tooth ache and the gum around it was swollen.  It was also very painful around that area and my cheek was swollen.  My flatmate told me I had a tooth infection and I needed to go to the dentist. I told her I'll see how I feel tomorrow. I decided to pray about it. I repeated "By His stripes I am healed." (Isaiah 53:5). I knew I was healed, but the pain only got worse. I was inspired to meditate on Romans 8: 11. I personalised the verse as follows: "The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is living in  me and this same Spirit is giving life to my teeth and gums no

Help is Everywhere

(Previously posted on Facebook on 2.8.2022) "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? "If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. "If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; "Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me." Psalm 139: 7-10 ---- I believe while the Internet on our various devices helps us connect, the irony is it can also disconnect us. I mean who needs to ask another for help when you can look it up on your mobile phone? While I was at Southend-on-Sea, I stopped off at this restaurant for lunch. I wondered if there was a local library where I could charge my phone and fan. I asked a customer if he was local as I was looking for a library. He said he wasn't from the area. He suggested that I could either check the street signs or look it up on Google Map. I told him I prefer people map as in aski
