Spirit is the Boss

"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46: 20

"For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit." Romans 8: 5

I got on the bus around 9.15am.

During the journey, I started feeling stomach ache signifying I needed to do number two.  As it was too late to return home, I  started fantasising about places I could go to do my business 

I could stop off at the shopping mall. A cursory Google search told me the mall wasn't open till 11am, as it was Sunday.

Maybe, I could go to my friend who lives close by and ask to use.his toilet. Knowing him, he's bound to be at his girlfriend's.

How about stopping off at this fast food restaurant? They will be open. 

When I got off the bus to catch my next bus,  I noticedI the restaurant was right opposite the bus stop. Why not go in and use their toilet?

I then thought, no, I will not  listen to you, flesh. My spirit, which is joined with the Lord, is in control here.   

While I was waiting for my next bus  I ignored my stomach's protestations. I kept reminding myself that my spirit is the one giving life to my flesh, not the other way round. You can wait till I get to church.

By the time I got on my next bus, my stomach was settling. During the journey, I listened to a programme on my GodTV app. I was so focused on it  I lost all sense of my body.

I arrived at church just after 11am. I had no desire to use the toilet. After the church service finished around 12.45. I sat with a group of friends and had a chat for about half an hour. I could sense my friend was about to leave.  I told her I was going to the ladies' toilet and will be back in 5 minutes.

Only then was I ready to hand the reins over to my flesh to do her business, which took less than a minute. I then joined my friend and we travelled on the bus together.

Thank you, Spirit, for showing my flesh that You are the Boss. ❤️

I believe the cross is a landmark that reminds me of the price Jesus's crucifixion paid for all humanity for all time. If I am ever feeling"lost" physically, emotionally or spiritually,, all I need to do is either think of the cross or look at a representation of the cross and I'm back on track. If God is Sovereign, Why is there Evil?

It is written in the Bible that God is in complete control and rules over all. (Psalm 103: 19l If God is sovereign and in control of the entire universe, why is there so much evil in the world? In other words, why does He allow evil to continue? The Bible tells us that because God is extremely patient, He gives us many second chances to enable us to repent or change our ways, as He doesn't want anyone to perish. (2 Peter 3: 9) That's why God allows men to continue in their sin. At a time of God's choosing, He brings down the proud. (Daniel 4: 37) One example in the Bible is  the life of King Nebuchadnezzar. God sent a  dream to the king to warn him about his sins and how he was exalting himself above God.  If he did not repent, he would temporarily lose his kingdom and be driven away from human society and end up eating grass like animals.  The king did not heed God's warning. Shopping with the Holy Spirit

Because my job involves standing up for hours, I needed to get new footwear as the cheap trainers I've been wearing have been very uncomfortable. I have several trainers which are very comfortable, but they are too colourful for work as your shoes have to be black. My ideal would be black trainers that could pass as smart shoes where the logo is either hidden or not that obvious. The first thing I did was check the website of my favourite brand of trainers, I found a pair I liked. Because they said they come in small sizes, I decided to visit one of their stores at Oxfird Street (Europe's busiest shopping street with 200+ shops) where I could try them on for size. After work, I caught the bus to Oxford Street. As the bus was driving  by, I noticed a shop that someone had recommended. (I actually have one of their trainers, but they are in pink and blue and not suitable for work). There was another shoe shop next door that I am also familiar with.  Should I get off the bus? Nah.
