Our All Knowing Travel Guide

"But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things." 1 John 2: 20

After church, I was thinking of travelling home with a friend who lives close to me, but she told me she needed to go to a particular store in Oxford Street.  I decided to accompany her. 

When we got on the bus, there was a long traffic jam. I suggested that we get off the bus, walk through China Town and get to Oxford Street from there.  When we got off  the bus, we  cut through several side streets in China Town.  The moment we hit Oxford Street, the shop my friend was looking for was right in front of us.  She was amazed at how it had worked out perfectly.

After my friend got what she wanted from the store, we headed back to China Town as my friend was hungry and fancied a Chinese meal and to give me a treat.  By then it had started drizzling. She suggested we go to a Chinese restaurant she used to go to, but when we got there it was now closed.

I suggested a restaurant a friend used to take me to, but that was over 20 years ago. I wasn't even sure if the restaurant was still there. It was, but a lot smaller than I remembered. The food was still  good though.

On the way home, I suggested that we travel by tube and then catch the bus the rest of the way, but my friend wanted to travel by bus.  We soon discovered there was a huge traffic jam and the area was overcrowded. My friend agreed to travel by tube.

On the underground, we discovered the line we wanted was closed. I suggested we use another line, change and reconect with our line.  When we got off at he station, there was an announcement that there were severe delays on the line we wanted  I suggested we could catch the overgound train which takes us right where we live, but I needed to check the train times, but I couldn't get any signal. My friend suggested we go upstairs.  We discovered there was an overground train leaving in four minutes.  My friend was amazed how everything had worked out so perfectly.  We were  both home in about fifteen minutes.

How did I know how to get to the store, which Chinese restaurant to go to and which route to travel home?

I didn't, but God in me who knows everything was guiding us every step of the way.

So I put a quiche in the oven to heat it up. By the time I checked it again, it was overdone. I had to scrape the burnt bits off. I didn't share that information with my flatmate, who was at work at the time. The very next day, my flatmate bought me the exact same quiche from the supermarket. I told her I had "cooked" a quiche the day before but it was more burnt than cooked. I believe God had inspired my flatmate to buy that quiche for me. If God is Sovereign, Why is there Evil?

It is written in the Bible that God is in complete control and rules over all. (Psalm 103: 19l If God is sovereign and in control of the entire universe, why is there so much evil in the world? In other words, why does He allow evil to continue? The Bible tells us that because God is extremely patient, He gives us many second chances to enable us to repent or change our ways, as He doesn't want anyone to perish. (2 Peter 3: 9) That's why God allows men to continue in their sin. At a time of God's choosing, He brings down the proud. (Daniel 4: 37) One example in the Bible is  the life of King Nebuchadnezzar. God sent a  dream to the king to warn him about his sins and how he was exalting himself above God.  If he did not repent, he would temporarily lose his kingdom and be driven away from human society and end up eating grass like animals.  The king did not heed God's warning. About Angels

Do I believe in angels? I have always believed in angels. Years ago when a van came from nowhere and almost ran me over, someone pulled me out of the way. I turned round to thank the person, but there was no one there, at least they were not visible to my senses. I believe I was saved by an angel. When I followed the New Age, the belief was you could call on angels to do your bidding. Some people even worshipped angels. As a Christian, I now follow the teachings in the Bible. Angels appear frequently in the Bible. In the Bible: - Angels are God's messengers. For instance  the angel Gabriel was sent by God to tell the virgin Mary that she had been chosen to be the mother of Jesus.
