A Bit of a Stretch

 "Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes. Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" Mark 9: 23-24

I've been thinking of putting some elastic around the waist of these particular trousers.

I asked a friend if she knew where I could get some and she suggested a haberdashery, but I don't know any close to where I live.

On the way home, I popped into the local chemist and asked if they sold elastic bands. The assistant pointed to elastic hairbands. I told him I wanted it to for my trousers. He said they didn't stock those.

I was inspired to try the ironmongers next door, but I thought nah, expecting them to sell elastic is a bit of a stretch. 😀

Today, I was in the area again and I was inspired to go into the ironmongers and asked if they sold elastic. I was amazed to discover that they not only sold it, they have a sewing area. Apparently, they stock all sorts of stuff. I once bought an electric blanket from them, which I never expected them to have.

God, who knows all things, knew they sold the elastic I was looking for.

Thank you, God, for stretching me to go beyond reason and to believe in You where all things are possible.  ❤️

What is My Function?

At this expo I was working at, I was helping visitors print out their badges with the scanning machine. Whenever I or anyone got close to the scanning machine, it would automatically scan the barcode on their badge and print out another badge. I found  it quite hilarious. 😄 I had to either hide my lanyard badge inside my jacket or try not to stand close to the machine. It got me thinking about functions. If at First You Don't Succeed

So I put a quiche in the oven to heat it up. By the time I checked it again, it was overdone. I had to scrape the burnt bits off. I didn't share that information with my flatmate, who was at work at the time. The very next day, my flatmate bought me the exact same quiche from the supermarket. I told her I had "cooked" a quiche the day before but it was more burnt than cooked. I believe God had inspired my flatmate to buy that quiche for me. It was His way of saying, if at first you don't succeed, try again.😊 Tomorrow I will have the quiche and be sure to follow the heating instructions. Thank you, Lord, for caring about everything that concerns me including cooking. ❤️

If God is Sovereign, Why is there Evil?

It is written in the Bible that God is in complete control and rules over all. (Psalm 103: 19l If God is sovereign and in control of the entire universe, why is there so much evil in the world? In other words, why does He allow evil to continue? The Bible tells us that because God is extremely patient, He gives us many second chances to enable us to repent or change our ways, as He doesn't want anyone to perish.
