No Disappointment in God

" Through  the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are  new every morning; Great  is  Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22–23 ---- With human relationships, if you have expectations, if they fulfil them, you are happy; if they don't,  you are disappointed.  When you have a relationship with God, you can never be disappointed as all his promises are steadfast and true for all time. That's why I have faith only in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. ❤️

Carol Service

When I logged on to the BBC  to watch the Christmas Carol service at King's, someone was just about to start the Bible lesson from John 1: 1- 14. That Bible lesson happens to be the same lesson I once read at my school's Christmas carol service.  Thank you, God, for inspiring me to log in at the right time! God is wonderful! ❤️

What Bus is That?

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.. and his name shall be called Wonderful." Isaiah 9: 6 ---- While I was waiting for my bus, the glare from the  bright sunlight was preventing me from seeing the numbers in front of the buses approaching until the last moment. As I was the only one at the bus stop, I didn't want the bus I wanted to go past me. Otherwise, I would have to wait a long time for the next one, as the bus companies operate a restricted bus service on a Bank Holiday. So I thought, Lord could you let me know when my bus is approaching. Several buses went by, but they weren't mine. Finally I saw this bus approaching really fast, but I couldn't tell whether it was mine or not. Suddenly, I noticed this cyclist in front of the bus and the bus slowed down and was driving at the same speed as the cyclist. That gave me all  the time I needed to confirm it was the bus I was waiting for. I then beckoned for the bus driver to stop. Nice one, God!

Jesus is the Word

Last night, I watched the Christmas carol service from Westminster Abbey, which was hosted by the Princess of Wales. It reminded me of when I first took part in my school's Christmas carol service at this church. I was 10 years old at  the time. At first, I was reluctant to take part as I thought I couldn't sing and I was too shy. Our teaxher  not only picked me as one of the choristers singing descant in the choir, she gave me the final Bible lesson to read - John 1: 1-14 (the King James Version). I ended up memorising that entire Bible passage, which I still remember to this day. At the time, I had no idea what the words meant, but I knew they were important. Later, when I became a born again Christian, I came to realise that Jesus Christ (the Word and God) took on the form of a man so he could save all of mankind for all time. He could only do that as God coming through the virgin Mary.  A "fallen"  man with a sinful nature could not have achieved that. Those who b

Love Never Fails

Image
"Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13: 8 ---- I went to this cafe and asked if they did jacket potato.  I was told they didn't, but they directed me to a cafe across the road that did. They even told me the name of the cafe. I loved how instead of seeing the other cafe as competition, they gave them their support, so everyone wins. When I went to the next cafe, I told them they have a friend in the cafe across the road, as they had recommended them to me. And their jacket potato with tuna and sweetcorn was delicious! ❤️ Photo of the jacket potato.

Postal Delivery

I received a card from the post office that they tried to deliver a package and they advised me to either pick it up at the local delivery office or arrange another date for delivery.  It has already taken them 3 weeks to deliver the packet.  I was tempted to let them return it to sender. , I decided to pick it up in two days i.e. Friday. I then had the idea to check when the next postal strikes were. It said Friday and Saturday,  which meant if I don't pick up the package today, I will have to wait till after Christmas. I still wasn't in the mood to go out. Maybe the strikes will not affect the delivery  office. I decided to give the company a call to ask. I was told there was a 50 minutes call waiting time to speak to an adviser.  They also reminded customers to be kind to their staff. I don't want to wait that long! God, could you please speed up the queue so I can speak to an adviser? While I was waiting, I had an idea to look up the company's website and informatio

Moving Time

"My times  are  in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 ---- When I got to the bus stop, I noticed my bus was the third bus due in 4 minutes. I asked God to move my bus to the top. I was amazed to see my bus appearing. When I got on the bus and tapped my Oyster card, it didn't work. The next customer tried but it didn't work. The driver had no choice but to let us in, which meant I got to travel for free. Later the driver told us the machine was now working, but it was too late. I was determined to enjoy my free travel. I noticed the machine was working fine for other passengers. Thank you, God, for being in control of time which you can move, speed up, slow down or freeze. ❤️

Obedience

"My times are in Your hand;" Psalm 31: 15 ---- After I had been meditating on  all my times in God's hand, I told Him I was planning to have lunch at this store the next day, then going to the library to study. The next morning, while I was getting ready, the Spirit told me He had revised my plans. First, I was going for a walk  through this park. He said after my recent bout of flu, I had been cultivating the attitude lately that I didn't have the energy to go for walks. He reminded me that I walk not by my powe or might but by His Spirit. (Zechariah 4: 6) Next, I was going to catch the bus up the hill which will take me all the way into town. I will then stop off at this cafe I've been to before to have breakfast. I will have an omelette with baked beans.  I shouldn't bother ordering bacon or sausage as I'm not going to like them. "What if you blessed them? Surely, I will like them?" I said. "No, just as you're never going to like avoc

Not too Early for Daffodils

No, it's not too early in the year for daffodils. At least, not for these ones at St James's Park. 😊❤️

Focusing on God in the Past

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.." Lamentations 3: 22-23, NKJV "I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation." 1 Corinthians 6: 2, NIV "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13; 8, NKJV ---- A paradox. We are encouraged to live in the moment and yet the Bible that Christians draw inspiration from is based on the past. We follow Jesus's teachings and accept His salvation from 2,000 years ago and we draw inspiration from men and women of God who lived thousands of years ago. It just shows past, present and future are choices of mental focus.  In other words, I get to choose where I put my focus. So I choose to focus on Jesus's salvation and teachings in the Bible from the past and receive them now. I choose to celebrate all the good that God has done for me in the past and is doing for me in the pre

God's Constant Protection

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." Psalm 23: 6 ---- On the first day after we had heavy snow in London (see video clip below), I had to pop out to buy some grocery. The shop is about 10 minutes walk away from home.  I prayed for God to get me there and back safely. When I got back, I realised something - though I know intellectually that God's goodness and mercy is everywhere I am, I still have that mentality that there are areas where I think I am more safe than others. That's simply not true. Just because I appear to be in a comfortable home doesn't mean I don't need God's protection.  What about those  times when I've nearly died in my sleep? If it wasn't for God's protection,  I would be a goner! That's why I need to constantly acknowledge that I live, move and have my being in God's Presence wherever I am. A few days later, when I went out, our l

About Time

"And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:" Mark 2: 27 "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." Psalm 121: 1-2 ---- At the bus stop, I looked up and noticed the Live Bus Timetable was missing. I then heard this man talking to his wife about the missing timetable. "I was just thinking the same thing!" I said. "I reckon they have these timetables up to keep us on our toes," he said. "I agree, so we can always be thinking about time and be controlled by time, instead of enjoying the moment," I said. "The bus is either going to arrive or it isn't," he chuckled. "It's just like the temperature," the man's wife said. "Before smartphones, I never checked the temperature. Now I am constantly checking the temperature." "Me too," I grinned. "I do the same. As long

We Wrestle Not Against Flesh

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6: 12 "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." Romans 12: 19 ---- While I was out running my errands, I kept reminding myself of God's presence in me and working in me. At the shopping centre, the escalator wasn't working and we had to walk up. I thanked God for giving me His energy and it was effortless. On the bus ride home, I was very grateful for the heating. At one stop, this woman came on, sat near me  and opened the window. When our eyes locked, I could see pure vitriol in her eyes. It was like looking at the devil. After a few minutes, I asked her to close the window. "Why?" "Because it's cold, and I've just recovered from a cold."

Mighty Hand of God

"As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:" Ezekiel 20:33 ---- When I told my cousin that I hadn't been feeling well, he wrote: "God is in control. The mighty hand of God reigns over your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ" I responded with an "Amen!" A few hours later,, while I was watching this YouTube video called "It's Supernatural" and receiving prayer, I found myself falling asleep. Suddenly, I felt a hand on top of my head. I knew it was the Hand of God that my cousin had mentioned earlier in his textt. Even when my eyes were open, I could still feel God's hand around my forehead. I felt His Hand on my head for about 10 minutes. Thank You, God, for revealing that You are not only in control of my life, You are always with me. ❤️

My Mummy and Daddy

Today, I had this conversation with a five year old in the class I was working in: Girl: Have you got a mummy and a daddy? Me: Er, no. Girl: Are they at home? Me: No, I don't have a mummy and a daddy. Girl: Why, are they dead? Me: Yes. Girl: How do you look after yourself? Me: I'm an adult and I can look after myself. Girl: Are you sure? What about your younger brother, who takes care of him? Me: He's a grown man and I'm sure he can take care of himself. Girl: One day I'm going to grow up and become big like you. Me: Yes, you certainly will. That's what I love about working with young kids, you never know what they're going to come out with. 😁 I may no longer have earthly parents, I do have a Father God who takes care of me and is forever with me. ❤️

Gratitude on Set

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4: 6-7 ____ I was working on set as a passerby, where the third AD (assistant dorector) was very kind and grateful to us. Even though it was cold, rained on and off, and we had to keep changing costumes, I wasn't complaining. It was actually a fun shoot. I also enjoyed chatting to fellow SAs (supporting artists) in the holding area. A few of us were asked to do the final night shoot which was fun. At the end of the shoot, the AD thanked us profusely for our efforts. She said they even finished early, though they did leave a scene out. She said she was very happy about how the day went. I wasn't surprised. The more someone is grateful for what I give, the more I want to give. I give thanks to God, the Source and Giver

Kindness on the Tube

It was nice to see kindness on the tube this evening. I let this woman carrying a crutch get on the tube before me, but all the seats were taken. This man immediately let her have his seat. During the journey, a seat became available and this man standing next to it refused to sit down so I sat down. I was very grateful. At another stop, this man with a crutch got on. A passenger beside me offered his seat, but the man refused as he said he was only travelling one stop. I thanked the passenger for his kindness. I look forward to seeing kindness everywhere I go. ❤️

God’s Constant Provision

"And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18: 3 ---- So I needed a new anti-virus for my laptop.  I went to my favourite tech store and asked if they had any Black Friday deals. The shop assistant told me it wasn't Black Friday yet. I said, I've noticed Black Friday sales already online. He asked me what kind of anti-virus I was looking for and I told him. He looked  it up online and told me they had one that can cover one device and it was very reasonably priced. When he went to get it, he couldn't find one. He said I could buy one that covers two devices, which costs more than double the price. I insisted I only wanted cover for one device only. He then went to speak to his supervisor.  Both of them returned and told me if I didn't mind waiting, they will try and find one in their stockroom. In about 15 minutes, I had my anti-virus. I was really grateful fo

God Gets All the Glory

"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10: 31 ---- A few months ago, a friend who works as a security guard at this art centre, told me she was concerned about her new employer cutting back on her shifts. She is only meant to work part time at the weekend, but they had drastically reduced the number of days she could work in the month. She had another job working from home, which she was finding very stressful. I told her I will pray for her and assured her everything will work out. She was doubtful, but said she will start going to her Catholic church. Since then, we've exchanged the odd text to say hello, but I haven't seen her to have a proper catchup. Yesterday, I went to the arts building where my friend works hoping to see her. I was happy to hear she was working that day.  When we met up for a chat, she told me her employer had done a volte face about her. One minute he wasn't offering her any s

God Preserves My Phone

While I was doing the household chores, I had my phone in the back pocket of my jeans as I was expecting a call, thar I didn't want to miss. As I was cleaning the bathroom, I heard a plop in the toilet. To my horror,  I realised I had dropped my phone in the toilet. As soon as I retrieved the phone, which was in the case, a notification came up saying that there was suspected moisture in the phone charging port and I shouldn't use the charger until it's dry. It suggested I could use a wireless charger instead. I didn't even know "wireless charger" was a thing. I started praying for my phone to be okay.  Psalm 121: 7 came to mind:  "The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul." Instead of "soul", I kept thinking "he shall preserve thy phone" which made me chuckle. 😄 The notification  lfinally went off when the phone port was dry.  I then charged the phone with my mobile charger bank. However, I was still

Finger Tip Healed in No Time

Image
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6: 2 ---- Recently while I was working at this nursery, I accidentally locked my finger in this door. Because I was busy with the babies, I didn't have time to complain about the pain. I decided to pray about it later. By the time I finished work, the finger was now swollen. Even though I prayed about it and affirmed that I am healed, the finger remained stubbornly swollen and painful. After two days, that finger tip had turned black but it no longer hurt. I went to the local chemist and ask the pharmacist for advce. He told he's had a similar experience and it will take at least two weeks for the blocked blood to drain from my finger tip. He suggested I could take pain killers if the finger was hurting. I told him my finger wasn't hurting and I thanked him for his advice. After I left the chemist, I decided I wasn't going to accept the chemist's view of time. I was exp

Loving Songs Just Because

Image
When I was a kid, song lyrics meant nothing to me as I was too young to understand romantic love and stuff. I just liked what I liked because of the beat, rhythm and the singer's voice tone. When I became an adult, the lyrics started having meaning. I could empathise with the twists and turns of romantic love in the lyrics. I'm back at that place I was as a kid where I can listen to romantic songs and the lyrics mean nothing to me because I'm not in love or hankering after romantic love, which isn't real anyway. I can simply enjoy the song for what it is. That, for me, is freedom!  This Jennifer Lopez song is one of my all time favourites as I love it just because I do. I could listen to it for hours on continuous play.  ❤️

Conversation at a Self Ckeckout

I had a brief conversation with this customer beside me at the self-checkout. Me: We come here to shop and they put us to work. Him: Yes, it's a real con and these tills are hard work. Me: The prices keep going up and what do we get?  Both of us: Nothing. Him: We don't even get free food. Both of us burst out laughing. 😄

God’s Infinite Love

When I saw this woman outside this building,  I asked her if she was a tourist. She said she was from Lancashire, a British northerner tourist exploring London for a few days. I asked her if she'd been to the exhibition.  She said no. She had come specifically to look ar the spiral staircase.  She said she loved spiral staircases. I then wished her well. It's interesting how my friend and I went into the same building with different objectives.  I went into that building because I love their library, though I only use their work space. My friend went into the same building to look at their staircase. I believe that building represents the one, infinite, Love of God. Thank you, God, for your gift of Love. ❤️

In Plain Sight

Image
I have observed I tend to only see what I have in my thoughts and ignore things that are in plain sight. That's why I need the Mind of Christ which sees all and knows all things. Speaking of which, there's an interesting exhibition at the Wellcome Collection, which someone brought to my attention.  It's called "Plain Sight." There's a lot to take in. I'll definitely pay another visit in the future. I took a photo of my avatar. You sit in front of this mirror and the image changes. Very interesting. 👍

God is Wonderful

Image
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9: 6 ---- I believe every time I wonder about something, I am invoking the Wonder of God in me. Today I had a desire to go for a walk along the canal  leading to this park I love. I was going to get off at Camden Town, but I didn't fancy walking through the crowd. I was inspired to get off at the stop before where I could join the canal  When I arrived at this lock, I noticed two men and a woman standing there and chatting. The woman was opening up the barrier to let a boat go by.  As I have always wondered how people know how to operate the barriers in canal locks, this was my opportunity to find out. "Excuse me?" I said to the man closest to me. "Do you have to go to a university or college to learn about canal locks?" "You ac

Sons and Daughters of God

I was chatting to a friend who was insisting that we are all sons and daughters of God, jusr like Jesus. I told him that's not what the Bible says. According to the Bible, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1: 12-13) If we were all sons and daughters of God, Jesus would not have made the following distinctions. "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." (John 8: 44) Another way to put it is if he was visiting a country and there was a disaster, the British government is going to arrange for their own nationals to be airlifted from that country. I

Dream of Ayesha

In my dream last night, there was this woman giving me something, but I can't remember what. All I remember was her name was Ayesha. When I woke up, I remembered my mum's  name was Ayesha because her dad was Muslim. After he died, mum converted to Christianity and used the name Isatu instead, Isa for short. Thank you, Isa, for agreeing to play the role of my mum in this human drama. I know you're with Jesus now where you're forever at peace. ❤️

Charity Shops

Although I love buying things from charity shops, I am very fussy about the charity shops I buy from. I find if I want some really classy outfits and handbags, I have to travel to well-to-do areas in south west London.  I once saw this really unusual reversible coat at this charity shop for £65. Although it was in mint condition, I was humming and haa-ing over spending that much on a second hand coat, so I left it. After a few minutes, I returned to the shop and tried the coat on and it fitted me perfectly. I had to get it. The shop assistant told me a coat like that would cost over £200 brand new. I've still got that coat and I love it. A couple of months ago, a friend gave me some money as a birthday gift. I thought I would get a nice handbag at one of my favourite charity shops. The moment I walked into this charity shop, I noticed this really nice backpack and grabbed it. It cost exactly the amount of money my friend had given me. While I was paying for the bag, the shop assist

Working with Young Kids

I've always wondered what it's like to work with young kids as I've never worked with them before. Today, I found out. When I went to try out this autistic primary school, I was asked to assist in a Reception class where the pupils are aged 3 to 4 years old. After about an hour, I knew working with pupils this young wasn't for me. I was only supposed to be there half a day and I was praying fervently for God's Grace to get me through.  When the teacher I was working with put on a video to entertain  some pupils, another pupil changed the video to "It's time to say goodbye." "Why is it playing that song?" she said.  "It's not yet time to say goodbye! "That's because it's time for Me to say goodbye," I chuckled.  Now I know what it's like to work with really young kids. Next!  😄

Bloated Gas

While I was walking home, I was thinking how bloated my stomach was. Why am I feeling so bloated? I immediately noticed this car on the road with the letters "SAG" on the number plate. I realised it was "GAS" in reverse. Are you telling me the bloating is due to gas? Very funny, God! 😄

Adoption

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whomsoever we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." Romans 8: 14- 17 ---- A Facebook friend said he was celebrating today as the day he adopted his dog and best friend seven years ago. He even shared a photo of him and his dog, which I thought was lovely. I am reminded of human adoption. When a human baby is adopted, it's usually because the baby's mum is not able to give her baby the emotional and material care and support it needs. The baby now has a new life in his or her adopted family. S/he is now given a new name and belongs to a new family tree. I believe the same is true for all born aga

What Would Jesus Do?

"Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world." 1 John 4: 17 --- On my way to the bus stop, I was meditating on the passage: "...as He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world." During rhe bus journey, this woman got on and sat beside me. She was taking a lot of room and her right arm was squashing my left arm. I moved my arm to indicate I needed more space, but she pushed her arm further and took more room. I wondered how I could ask  her to move her arm without offending her. I thought again of the Bible verse, "...as He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world What would you do, Jesus? I had the thought to bless her with love, which I did. The first thing I noticed was her arm was no longer uncomfortable; it now felt soft like a pillow. Next, she moved her arm. The more I blessed her, the further she moved her arm away. When she was getting off,  I noticed she was wearing socks a

God's Unmerited Favour

So I noticed scratches on my reading glasses, which I need for work. After work, I stopped off at my local optician to book an eye test appointment so I can get new glasses, as it's been ages since I had one.  The receptionists were very busy and it took them ages to serve me. While I was waiting, I heard them telling a customer that they have a long eye test waiting list and the earliest date they can do is sometime in October. When I was finally served, the receptionist told me about the long waiting list. She asked me what time would be best for me and I said after work. She said the last appointment is usually around 4.50pm. I said I'll try and make it. She then asked me if I could do weekends and I said yes. She told me I was very lucky as they had one appointment available in two days time. Could I make it? Yes, yes, yes! What some call "luck" is simply God's unmerited favour at work for a believer. Thank you, God, for your constant unmerited favours!

Love Connects People

"God is love." John 4: 8 ---- I've been travelling home by tube with a work colleague who lives around my area. Today, she had to leave early as she had a doctor's appointment. I was sorry I didn't get to see her before she left so I could give her a hug and wish her well. After work, I decided to travel by bus with three other work colleagues. For some unknown reason it took ages for our bus to arrive. When we got on the bus, it took a while to get to our destination as there was a huge traffic jam. When I got off the first bus, my next bus was taking a while to arrive. As I was feeling cold, I decided to travel on a different bus, which also goes close to  where I live. During the bus journey, I thought of my work colleague and wondered how her appointment went.  I suddenly looked up and I was amazed to see my friend had just got on the same bus I was in. She was very happy to see me. After exchanging hugs and kisses, I asked her how her appointment went. She a

Truth vs Facts

Truth is greater than facts. Facts is based on what the physical senses tell you based on human beliefs which is changeable.  Truth is based on what God's Reality, which is eternal and unchanging. For instance, the fact is prices of everything is going up and we face shortages. The Truth is God is my Shepherd I shall not want or lack anything I need or want. The Truth is God shall supply all my needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus. The Truth is everything that appears come from the invisible realm which is infinite. The Truth is all good things come from the Father of Lights in whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning. When you are faced with facts, override it with the Truth which is infinite power.

Waking Up from the Dream

"When you arise, O Lord, you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning." Psalm 73: 20 “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you lightsilly.” Ephesians 5: 14 ---- In my dream this morning, I was told something had gone wrong at my possessions. I can't remember the exact details  but thete was something broken. While I was picking up the pieces, this man walking by said to me, "You're not having a good day, are you?: "It's okay, it doesn't matter. Besides, it's only a dream anyway!" I said. I then woke up from that dream. I believe I am either experiencing God's reality or human dream. The human dream can be dissolved when it is seen as silly ideas that mean nothing.

Removing Block

"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;." Psalm 24: 1, NIV ---- I usually watch television via the Internet on my laptop. I occasionally watch on my phone using their apps. When I logged into the ITV website using my laptop, a notice came up that it was forbidden on that server. After several attempts and no joy, I tried logging on via the Internet on my phone and I could access ITV just fine. I noticed I could access all Channel 4 channels via their website. P What's going on?  Why can't I  access all ITV channels on my laptop? I give up!  Lord, the Bible/Your Word says everything belongs to You, therefore, ITV belongs to You. Could you sort out whatever the reason is why I can't access the ITV website on my laptop? Thank you! After a few minutes, a notification came on that the VPN (virtual private network) was disconnected. Oh I see!  The Virus protector must have turned the VPN on. When the VPN is on, it treats you li

Day Trip to Brighton

" And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those  who are the called according to  His  purpose." Romans 8: 28 ----- For the last two months, I've been waking up early on week days to watch Dr David Jeremiah on GodTV at 6am, as I find his sermons very inspiring.  This week he's been teaching about Romans Chapter 8, which he believes to be the Greatest chapter in the Bible Today he preached about Romans 8: 28 - which he believes to be the greatest promise in the Bible for all believers in Christ: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  Romans 8: 28 My friend and I had planned to take a trip to Brighton, a seaside resort  in the south coast of England. (It was my early birthday celebration). As my friend lives in east London and I Iive in north London, we arranged to meet at southwest London to catch the train to Brighton.p We had a fa

"The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?."  Proverbs 18: 14 "The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit?" Proverbs 18: 14 "But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit." 1 Corinthians 6: 17 "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." I Thessalonians 5: 23 ---- There was a time when my mum had to have hip replacement operations. One of them was even botched and she had to have it redone which meant spending lots of time in hospital. Even though mum went through a lot of suffering, she had hope she was going to be well.  She demonstrated her faith by ordering outfits and shoes that she intended to wear to church when she got better. That's exactly what happened  - mum got to wear her outfits to church.  A few months later, mum fell ill again.  I

Sharing the Good

Image
I've been meaning to get a handheld fan that a work colleague recommended,  but the store was sold out last week. I figured now thar it's slightly cooler, it wouldn't be so popular and I can get myself one. I was at the store first thing this morning. They told me they only had two remaining on the shelf, but the customer ahead of me had just grabbed them. They said it was too early to know whether any more had been delivered. The customer, who had just grabbed the last two, turned round and said to me, "I'm not greedy! You can have one." "Thank you so much!" I said to her.  "God bless you!". "Thank you! It's good to share!" she smiled. We were all happy, including the sales assistant. Thank you, God, for providing my fan! ❤️ Here's a photo of the fan, which can also be used as a desk fan.  It's brilliant! 👍 Fan bought from John Lewis.

My Joy Comes from God

"In Your presence is fullness of joy ." Psalm 16: 11 --- Someone told me I seemed very happy and I must be enjoying my job. I told him my mental state has nothing to do with my job, which is actually very challenging.   I wasn't inspired to go into further details. I believe there is a difference between human happiness and Joy Human happiness comes and goes. When things are going well, you're happy; when they're not, you're miserable. However, the Joy of the Lord stays with you whether things are going well or not. Nothing can take away my Joy, which is a gift from God. ❤️

Possessed by the Holy Spirit

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12: 1 ---- I believe every moment I call on God for help or acknowledge His Presence, I am possessed by the Holy Spirit who works in and through me. Here's one example. When a fly came through my open bedroom window, I asked it to go out, but it kept flying around. So I  After about a minute, I couldn't take the buzzing anymore so I thought, God, please let this fly out! I then opened the window a lot wider and pulled the curtain out of the way. "Come on!" I pointed to the open window. The fly went out. As it was leaving, I could have sworn I heard the fly say, "Thanks, Sue!"  Have a nice day, Mr Fly! 😆

Gift Voucher

"In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3: 6 ---- So I went to this particular store to buy a birthday gift for a friend. What should I get her? I thought about getting her a gift voucher.  I know, I'll get her some beauty products! At the beauty department, I found a lovely pack of hand wash and lotion, which I thought she would like. On the way to the cashiers, I had a thought it wasn't right. After replacing the package back on the shelf, I asked myself, Lord, what should I get my friend? I had a thought about getting her a gift voucher. I remembered my friend had told me she had bought her trainers from a branch of this store. She obviously shops in this store so she can buy what she likes with the gift voucher at her closest branch. I then went to the cashiers to get the gift voucher, but there was a long queue there. I decided to try the cashiers at the men's department.  Other customers seem to have had the same idea as

Deception

A few years ago, I got chatting to this woman on the bus. She told me she was a Christian and we exchanged phone numbers. I also gave her my Facebook username for her to connect when she was ready. For a few weeks, we chatted via text. One day, I received a text from her to let me know that she had been reading my posts on Facebook and she thought I was demonic. She told me to never contact her again. She even blocked my number. At the time, I thought she was deluded. Surely if I was demonic, I wouldn't be following Jesus's teachings in the Bible. Oh well, her loss, not mine! I remember texting a friend about this and he told me that maybe it's because I think so different from a lot of people. He assured me I wasn't demonic and told me not to worry about it. Although I  tried to put that Christian woman's accusation out of my thoughts, something inside of me wondered - what if  she was right and I am the one who is deluded and being deceived? During the C*vid lockd

Restoration

Last night I had a dream  I was reading the book of Isaiah in the Bible.  All I kept seeing were  the words: Restoration,  Restoration, Restoration. ------ Father God, thank you for restoring all that was lost and stolen in Jesus name. Amen! ❤️

Strength Made Perfect in Weakness

Image
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12: 9 ---- When the government lifted all Covid restrictions, I stopped wearing my mask on public transport. Within a few days, I had  a cold which led to a chesty cough. I spent a few days indoors recuperating and reading. When a friend asked me to do a shoot, I was excited to be out again but I was wary about shooting outdoors.  He assured me we wouldn't be out for long. When I woke up this morning, I had a thought that maybe I should just cancel and stay in bed as I am still feeling too weak to be out on this bitterly cold day. I dismissed the thought and reminded myself that I don't have to go out on my own strength.  I have God's Grace to keep me going. I believe God's Grace is like a shower that is constantly pouring His unmerited favours

Paid in Full by Jesus

Reminder to self: "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5: 21 ---- Imagine treating yourself to a nice meal at a fancy restaurant. After you've finished your meal, you ask for the bill. The maitre d' tells you your bill has already been taken care of. "But that's impossible!" you say. "No one knew I was coming here!" "Someone has paid for your meal, madame, including the gratuity," he says. "There's nothing for you to pay." You now have a choice. You can accept this free gift and be grateful to your anonymous donor or you can refuse their gift and insist on paying for the meal as you don't accept charity. This metaphor represents Jesus' sacrifice for mankind. His blood has paid for man's salvation for all time.  As a believer, I have two choices.  1. I can receive salvation by faith through Jesus Christ;  or  I can reject salva
